In an interview with Rasa News Agency, one of the commanders of the Popular Mobilization Forces, stated that the Iraqi people are following the path outlined by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution. According to Rasa News Agency’s correspondent in Najaf, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Hadi al-Jazayiri, one of the commanders of the Popular Mobilization Forces said, “The Islamic Seminary of Najaf invites the organizers of Iraqi mawkibs [mourning groups and organizations] to hold cultural events during the days of Arba’in of Imam al-Husayn. These programs can include extensive lectures and the explanation of legal rulings.”
His Eminence continued, “The religious authorities of Najaf called on Iraqi citizens and organizers of mawkibs to have a brotherly relationship with all pilgrims, especially Iranian pilgrims, during the time of the Arba’in pilgrimage.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Jazayiri said that the Zionist regime and the United States are trying to provoke the Iraqi people to kill each other and to inflame the Sunni-Shi’ah tensions but the Iraqi people were vigilant over the enemies’ plots.”
He pointed to the meeting of Iraqi organizers of mawkibs with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei], adding, “We are soldiers who regard the meeting with the Supreme Leader of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a source of honour and the Iraqi people will not kneel before the oppressors and will obey the path laid out by the Supreme Leader because Iran’s stance during the events that Iraq witnessed proved the policies that Tehran has taken have been a position of power. These policies arose from the wisdom of the Supreme Leader.”
In a recent meeting with Iraqi organizers of mawkibs, the Supreme Leader emphasized that the Islamic and Arab dignity of the Iraqi people in regard to the hospitality of the Arba’in pilgrims is unique and is based on love for Imam al-Husayn and added, “From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the Iranian people, I thank all of you, the organizers of mawkibs, who display the highest dignity and affection during the time of Arba’in, and all of the great people of Iraq and its government officials who have secured the grounds for this great movement, and we also thank the scholars and great sources of emulation of Iraq.”
