RNA – Speaking during a visit to the headquarters of Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Mohsen Faqihi, a member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, praised the hard work of this seminary news agency and stressed upon the necessity of collecting and summarizing the opinions of the sources of emulation and scholars and disseminating them in different fields for society.
The head of the Dar al-Thaqalayn Wali al-Asr Institute said that the marriage anniversary of Imam Ali and Lady Fatimah al-Zahra is a great opportunity for news agencies to speak with various sources of emulation and scholars and publish their comments on dimensions of this heavenly marriage and how marriage can prevent many social harms in society.
He cited the issue of corruption in the ethical arena as one of the most important dangers in society, “We have no doubt that promoting a culture of marriage, especially easy marriage and the avoidance of large dowries, can prevent much of the existing corruption.”
Ayatollah Faqihi emphasized that today, the people are taking television as their role models and are becoming acculturated through this means, “Today, some movies and television series that are broadcast are destroying the effects of the advice and sermons of the scholars and sources of emulation. We explain the basics of Islam to society but by broadcasting some inaccurate content the television networks, the work of the scholars and sources of emulation is destroyed.”
His Eminence added that the seminary media organizations is doing its best to promote pure Islam in the society and added, “I believe that the media, especially the seminary media organizations such as Rasa News Agency, can reform the country. To achieve this goal, the media organizations must address public weak points of individuals, interview people with public weak points and attempt to correct their behaviour in a gentle, soft-spoken manner.”
He said that the seminary media organizations must protect the good image of the clergy in society and strengthen the influence of the seminaries and the clergy in the society, “The more we interact with the body of society, the greater our influence is among the people. The seminary media organizations can portray the presence of the clergy in society and provide the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the clergy and the seminarians among society.”
Ayatollah Faqihi described the late Imam Khomeyni’s key to success as relying on pure Islam and said, “If we also rely on Islamic points, we will certainly be influential. Therefore, we must not fear anyone in the way of Islam but use all of our abilities to express the culture of Islam.”
