The Secretariat of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution issued a statement ‎emphasizing that it’s the responsibility of the Nigerian government to take responsibility for ‎any unfortunate incident against Hujjat al-Islam Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic ‎Movement of Nigeria.‎

RNA – The Secretariat of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution issued a statement ‎warning about the state of health of Hujjat al-Islam Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the ‎Islamic Movement of Nigeria, and said that the Nigerian government will be held accountable ‎for any unfortunate incident regarding this seeker of divine justice.‎

Shaykh Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), has been in ‎‎detention since December 2015 after his residence in the city of Zaria was raided by Nigerian ‎‎forces, during which he was beaten and lost his left eye.‎

His wife also sustained serious wounds while more than 300 of his followers and three of his ‎‎sons were killed in the violence.‎

Last week, members of the IMN said that the cleric had been poisoned in prison and ‎‎required urgent medical care abroad.‎

The text of this statement is as follows:‎

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Over the course of nearly three-and-a-half years, the massacres of Muslims participating in ‎the Ashura mourning processions in Nigeria and the illegal detention of Hujjat al-Islam ‎Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Muslims of this country, and his wife, who herself was ‎severely injured in this tragedy. ‎

Over the past five years, his six children, his sister and hundreds of innocent and oppressed ‎Muslims were martyred – despite the severe censorship of news about his situation, news ‎reports revealed that the Nigerian judiciary and government is extremely adverse in regard to ‎the release of Hujjat al-Islam Zakzaky and has obstructed his release through false excuses.‎
‎ ‎
The manner in which the Nigerian military government confronted a religious procession that ‎was operating in accordance with the laws of Nigeria and also the silence coupled with the ‎confirmation of the countries which claim to be supporters human rights once again showed ‎how invalid and one-sided the slogan of human rights is.‎

Hujjat al-Islam Zakzaky was severely injured in the cowardly attack by Nigerian troops on ‎the Ashura mourning procession. The latest news regarding Hujjat al-Islam Zakzaky’s ‎physical condition shows that the effects of the bullets have impacted his body and the ‎deplorable and medieval manner in which they have looked after him has threatened his life. ‎

Despite of the fact that in December 2016, the Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja ‎acquitted him and ordered him to be released and ordered that damages be paid to Hujjat al-‎Islam Zakzaky and his wife, the Supreme Court did not enforce it.‎
‎ ‎
The Nigerian government, as a member of the United Nations, is required, in accordance ‎with international treaties and international conventions, to officially recognize religious ‎freedom and religious practices and rites for Muslims in the country, which account for ‎almost 50% of the population.‎
‎ ‎
The seekers of justice and advocates of the peaceful life for the followers of all religions ‎must also break the silence of this obvious oppression against the Muslims of Nigeria. They ‎must also diligently demand that the Nigerian government, which is affected by the direct and ‎irresponsible pressures of the Zionist regime and the rulers of the House of Saud, release ‎Hujjat al-Islam Zakzaky ‎and guarantee the legitimate rights of Muslims of this country and ‎grant them the right to freely exercise their religious rites.‎

The release of Hujjat al-Islam Zakzaky is once again on the agenda of the Nigerian judiciary ‎next week and it is hoped that with the clever and wise approach of the country’s justice ‎system, the leader of the Muslims of Nigeria and his wife will be released from this illegal ‎detention and inhumane act.‎
