RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Pakistani city of Lahore, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Jawad Naqvi referred to the May 7th suicide attack on the Data Darbar shrine, where Shaykh Ali al-Hujwiri [an 11th-century Iranian Sunni Muslim mystic, theologian, and preacher] is buried, in which about ten people lost their lives and many more were wounded and said, “This attack was a grievous incident in the month of Ramadhan, especially when it is claimed that the back of terrorism has been broken in Pakistan. How can this be said when such incidents have occurred in Baluchistan and now in Punjab – especially in central Lahore where there was a large number of people in and around the shrine?”
The principal of Jami’at Urwat al-Wuthqa Islamic Seminary in Lahore stated, “I have said this several before – terrorism doesn’t end through statements. Some effective steps have been taken but not enough has been done because the foundations of terrorism haven’t been touched. The structure of terrorism is still intact and until action is taken, terrorism won’t end in Pakistan. The three main roots of terrorism are present in Pakistan. The government is a sponsor of terrorism and the Afghanistan war began and then terrorism began in Pakistan. But whose decision was it to drag Pakistan into that war? Who started the jihadi culture in Pakistan?”
He said that the second root of terrorism is support for Takfiri madrassahs, which were created, nurtured and supported by Arab powers to establish them as academies of terrorism in the region and noted, “Intelligence agencies have mentioned that 47 members of parliament are supporters of terrorism. The chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party [Bilawal Bhutto Zardari] has openly and repeatedly said in front of the media that some members of parliament are supporters of banned terrorist organizations.”
Hujjat al-Islam Naqvi added that the third root of terrorism is the influx of Arab funds and said, “Three countries have invested in promoting terrorism in Pakistan and all three are still giving financial assistance – Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are openly spending money in Pakistan.”
In other news, the Pakistani scholar said, “A new conspiracy has started against Shi’ah Muslims. Arab powers, including Saudi Arabia, have given promises of large cash aid packages and now Qatar has given free aid to Pakistan. This aid hasn’t been given in love of Pakistan but rather, they want the Pakistani government and organizations to do their desired work. What’s happening across the world against Shi’ahs this is part of an atmosphere and a dangerous conspiracy being created against Shi’ahs.”
He stated, “The United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia have united against Shi’ahs with full force. They are besieging Iran and have imposed sanctions and are threatening war. They have sent warships to the Persian Gulf. They are also threatening all those who deal with Iran. Such severe pressure has been imposed on Iran in hopes that the Iranian people will rebel against their government and overthrow it. They want to end the country’s missile systems, destroy its oil production and have declared the IRGC as a terrorist organization. The revolutionary leadership of Iran is prepared to confront all of them and they are doing this even though there are economic issues inside the country but they are handling all fronts.”
He stressed that the American government wants to destroy the system of Wilayat al-Faqih [Guardianship of the Jurisprudent] and the Zionists are against the Islamic Revolution and Saudi Arabia is against Shi’ism. All three of these powers have the same vision. The Zionists have been struck with hard blows due to the Islamic Revolution and therefore, want to destroy the Islamic Revolution. Saudi Arabia wants the base of Shi’ism in Iran to end. They say that Shi’ism has strengthened globally due to the Islamic Revolution and this is true. Even in those countries where Shi’ahs have historically been quietists, such as Bahrain, they have raised their voices. The Bahraini people are rising up and the Al Khalifah regime is attacking it’s Shi’ah majority severely.
Hujjat al-Islam Naqvi said, “The United States is creating a front against Iran and is also provoking Pakistan so they won’t engage in trade with Iran over gas and oil. If Pakistan and Iran can create a forum then many issues of Pakistan can be solved. By using their potentials, the common problems of both sides can be solved but the United States and the Arab nations are a barrier between them. The United States is creating a front against Iran by engaging in an alliance with various countries, including China.”
