Representative of Khuzestan in the Assembly of Experts:‎
Rasa – Ayatollah Heydari said that awaiting the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi gives a ‎sense of responsibility and said, “Awaiting the reappearance isn’t silence but rather its a ‎movement, a ‎demand, a jihad (hard trying for God).”‎

RNA – Speaking on April 22nd at a ceremony marking the birth anniversary of Imam ‎Muhammad al-Mahdi in Ahvaz, Ayatollah Mohsen Heydari argued that man must prepare ‎himself for the reappearance of the Imam of Time and said, “In waiting for the ‎reappearance [of Imam al-Mahdi], first man must reform himself, then his family and those ‎around him and then work for the reform of society.” ‎

The representative of the people of Khuzestan province in the Assembly of Experts stated ‎that the man who is awaiting the twelfth infallible Imam, who is alive but in occultation, has ‎a sense of responsibility and said, “Awaiting the reappearance [of Imam al-Mahdi]‎ isn’t ‎silence but rather its a movement, a demand, a jihad and an attempt to reform society in ‎order to prepare the conditions for the reappearance‎.” ‎

Ayatollah Heydari pointed out that awaiting the reappearance is expenditure and without ‎destructive moves, stated, “It isn’t to be said that when the Imam of Time will reappear, he ‎himself will fill the world with justice and at the same time, enjoin the good and forbid the ‎wrong and forget about responsibility.”‎
‎ ‎
The temporary Friday prayer leader of Ahvaz continued, “If we want to wait in the true ‎meaning of the term, we must prepare ourselves, our houses, the people around us and ‎society for the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi.”‎

Ayatollah Heydari ‎referred to the recent devastating flood in Khuzestan and stated, “The ‎floods in Khuzestan ‎‎and the movement of people from all over the country, and even from ‎outside the country, to help the people of Khuzestan is a sense of responsibility and ‎movement for self-reform and is a kind of preparation for the reappearance of Imam al-‎Mahdi.”‎

Floods in oil-rich Khuzestan province have sparked mass evacuations in a few towns. ‎

Massive downpours began sweeping the country on March 19, with raging currents of water ‎battering houses, washing away cars and killing people in a few provinces.‎

The intense rainfalls eventually caused rivers to burst their banks triggering the worst ‎flooding in decades in 25 of the country’s 31 provinces.‎
