RNA – Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, the head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran, attended the special program of the 16th annual Rahiyan-e Nour [Passengers of Light] caravan in Khorramshahr and stated that the clergy weren’t separated from the line of jihad and martyrdom during the Sacred Defence Era [Iran-Iraq War] and said, “The pursuit of martyrdom in the Islamic Seminaries is in fact a battle cry against the arrogant powers and throughout history, our great scholars have proven that the book of jihad and the chapter of martyrdom has a lengthy tradition and has been welcomed in the seminaries.”
The Friday prayer leader of Qom argued that the movement of Islam and the authentic clergy will never be separated from the Islamic Revolution and the uprising of the path of God and said, “Presently, the names of more than 4,500 martyred clergymen have been registered at the martyrs office at the Islamic Seminaries. The veterans and freed clergymen from with the seminaries rose up carried the flag of jihad and resistance on their shoulders and proved to the arrogant powers of the world that the seminaries are revolutionary and will remain revolutionary.”
Pointing out that presence in the arenas of the battles of the Sacred Defence alongside the martyrs is another covenant to continue their path, Ayatollah Arafi stated, “Preparation for sacrifice and martyrdom on the path of God is the characteristic of the clergy. Being a cleric is incomplete without such an characteristic.”
Stating out that the Rahiyan-e Nour caravan is meant to strengthen and develop the morale of jihad and martyrdom among the youth, said, “The result of the development of the spirit of jihad and martyrdom is preparedness for sacrifice on the path of Islam and our great martyrs give us the taught us the lesson of resistance and endurance.”
Ayatollah Arafi stressed that the Islamic Revolution led to the emergence of a Islamic Resistance Front in the region and is present on such fronts of the Shi’ah and Sunni youth.
Rahiyan-e Nour is a group of religious and political caravans which travel between visiting areas in southern and southwestern in Iran to commemorate Iranian efforts and lives lost in the Iran-Iraq War. The caravans of Rahiyan-e Nour typically travel to war zones around the time of Norouz, the Iranian New Year, and during summer vacation.
