RNA – Speaking at the specialized conference on “Diplomacy of Alliance: Needs and Strategies” held at the Islamic Revolutionary Research and Cultural Institute, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Hoseyn Mokhtari, the director of Qom’s University of Denominations and Religions, said, “In our era, Islam is being attacked from two sides.”
The member of the board of directors of the Imam Khomeyni Educational Research Institute added, “On one hand, arrogant powers are opposed to the principle of religion. From the past, the enemies have strongly sought to eradicate religious beliefs from the human mind and they have used all means and capacities to achieve this but have failed and they understood that it is impossible and can’t eliminate the principle of religion.”
Hujjat al-Islam Mokhtari said that in order to target the principle of religion, the enemies presented a contradictory image of this religion and said, “In order to deviate religion, they created violent sects and extremist groups, such as Daesh, to weaken Islamic beliefs in Islamic societies. Dynamic and living Islam and Islam which brings society into motion, movement and uprising is definitely at odds with the interests of the arrogant powers of the world.”
He continued, “Therefore, they have promoted a form of Islam without a foundation and basis because such a form of Islam doesn’t contradict their developmental and hegemonic interests and through this means, they create tragedies and calamities in the Muslim world.”
Hujjat al-Islam Mokhtari continued, “Religion is timeless and is consistent with human nature and today, its enemies are in an atmosphere of fanaticism and classism. Therefore, with this in mind, the mission of the religious scholars and academics of Islam to illuminate the general opinion of the public, especially the younger generation, must be doubled. In addition to this, the efforts to recognize correct Islam and create awareness of the true identity of extremist groups must be doubled.”
