RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf’s al-Fatimiyah al-Kubra Husayniyah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadruddin al-Qubanchi referred to the fortieth anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution and said, “The enemies have been striving to create damage and overthrow the Islamic Revolution in Iran over the past forty years, but haven’t achieved any of their sinister goals.”
The Iraqi Shi’ah scholar added, “Iran’s Islamic Revolution defeated the arrogant powers, the great and Western nations and led to the redefinition of Islam in the world and the replacement of Western culture.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi responded to the denial of permission for the Shi’ahs of Jordan to visit religious Shi’ah shrines by Abdul-Nasser Musa Abu al-Basal, the Jordanian Minister of Endowment and said, “We condemn these statements from a Jordanian official and we consider it as hostile, opposed to peace and as representative of the lack of the good nature of Jordan. We demand a official apology by the Jordanian government to the Iraqi people.”
His Eminence noted the meeting of Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, with Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in Najaf and said, “The statements of Ayatollah al-Sistani in this meeting contained global messages from Iraq and Shi’ahs from within and outside the country.”
He stated that protecting Iraqi sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of the country were among the most important points of the statements of Ayatollah al-Sistani in his meeting with Ms. Hennis-Plasschaert.
Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi added, “Ayatollah al-Sistani described Iraq’s relations with neighbouring countries as free from religious, religious and economic affiliations, positive and good and condemned any violation of neighbouring countries and called for the initiation of the government’s ability to solve the problems of Iraq.”
