RNA – Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Husayn al-Tabataba’i al-Hakim, a prominent scholar based in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf, said, “Protecting religious teachings, conveying it to the Islamic ummah and enjoining the good and forbidding the wrong are the main religious reasons to enter the Islamic Seminaries.”
He added, “If this issue isn’t one of the wajibat al-ayni (individual obligations), it’s definitely one of the wajibat al-kifa’i (collective obligations) and also there are enough people in this area, this provision will become an emphasized mustahab (recommended) provision.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Tabataba’i al-Hakim added, “The seminarians and scholars must take these issues seriously and fulfill their duties.”
Referring to the hadiths (narrations) in regard to the division and adjustment of time throughout life, His Eminence stated, “The seminarians must not waste their time and dedicate their best time of the day to work on their religious knowledge and increase their spiritual status.”
At the end of his speech, he answered the questions of the seminarians and teachers of the Islamic Seminary of Amir al-Muminin.
It is worth noting that the Islamic Seminary of Amir al-Muminin in the holy city of Najaf is being managed by Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Vahid-Khorasani, a renowned Qom-based source of emulation.
