RNA - Hujjat al-Islam Hassan Saffar, the Friday Prayer leader of Qatif wanted women to participate in social activities.

Referring to the increase in the knowledge level of women in Saudi Arabia, Hujjat al-Islam Hassan Saffar, the Friday Prayer leader of Saudi Arabian city of Qatif wanted women to participate in social activities.

“Beside the Marginal activities, it is good for Saudi Arabian women to protect social plans too”, Sheikh Saffar said in Friday Prayer Sermon.

Noting the importance the role of women in the society, Sheikh Saffar said, “In addition to social activities, women can also fill job opportunities and manage the family alongside their husbands”.

“Women are far riper than what they were in the past and the level of their knowledge is upper than what it was”, He concluded.

Although the new government of the Saudi Arabia claim that wanted to change the status quo, women's rights in Saudi Arabia are limited in comparison to the rights of women in many of its neighboring countries due to the strict interpretation of Wahhabi laws, deviated version of the Islam, in place in Saudi Arabia.

Qatif or Al-Qatif is a governorate and urban area located in Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia which is the largest concentration of Shia Islam in Saudi Arabia and less than 3% of the population are Sunni Muslims.
