RNA – Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad-Sa’id al-Hakim, a senior Najaf-based source of emulation, conveyed his condolences on the death of Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Tahir al-Salman, a renowned scholar from the al-Ahsa region of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.
The message says, “Regretfully, we received the news of the death of the great scholar, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Tahir al-Salman, who spent his life in the service of knowledge and promoting the religion of Islam and solving the problems of the people.”
He added, “We offer our condolences on this tragedy to the families, children and believers of the al-Ahsa region. We ask God Almighty to increase his rank and to resurrect him with the Prophet Muhammad and the Immaculate Family of the Prophet Muhammad and to grant abundant patience to his family.”
It should be noted that Hujjat al-Islam al-Salman is one of the renowned scholars from Saudi Arabia, who passed away after suffering for many years on Thursday, December 6th at the age of 95 lunar years.
This outstanding scholar was born in al-Ahsa in 1345 AH/1926 CE and began his religious studies in the city under the supervision of his father, Ayatollah Sayyid Hashem and Shaykh Sadiq al-Khalifah and migrated to the Iraqi holy city of Najaf in 1364 AH/1944 CE to complete his education.
In the city of Najaf, Hujjat al-Islam al-Salman studied under a number of eminent scholars in the sutuh and dars al-kharij levels, such as Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Sa’id al-Hakim and Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Abolqasem Khoei.
He was declared a mujtahid and returned to his hometown in 1403 AH/1982 CE.
In addition to being a jurisprudent, teacher and researcher, His Eminence also engaged in many activities in the fields of literature and poetry and was renowned for his virtue, righteousness, service to believers and humility.
Hujjat al-Islam al-Salman was buried in the cemetery of the city of al-Mubarraz after a funeral ceremony attended by many Shi’ahs of the region, who held banners and pictures.
