RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Beirut suburb of Bir al-Abd, Hujjat al-Islam Ali al-Da’moush, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, said, “The joint American-Israeli-Saudi plans in the region have been defeated and they have suffered a lot of damage and their latest defeat has been on the western coast of Yemen.”
He added, “Despite the brutal actions in Yemen, the United States and Saudi Arabia have failed to reach any of their evil objectives in the country and they have withdrawn from the western coast and the city of al-Hudaydah with humiliation.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Da’moush said, “After their defeat in al-Hudaydah, the United States and Saudi Arabia were forced to announce that their forces were under siege and suffered many losses due to the resilience of the Yemeni forces, including the army and popular volunteers.”
The Saudi regime and its allies launched a deadly campaign against Yemen in March 2015 in an attempt to reinstall the country’s former Riyadh-allied regime and crush the Houthi Ansarullah movement.
One of the principle targets of the Saudi attacks is the port city of al-Hudaydah, which handles 80 percent of the country’s food and aid supplies.
Ansarullah forces have fought back against a Saudi push against the city and have targeted troops in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern Najran region.
In another part of the Friday prayer sermon this week, His Eminence mentioned the Zionist regime’s invasion of the Gaza Strip and the fierce response by the Islamic Resistance Front and said, “The victory of the Islamic Resistance Front in the Gaza Strip led [Avigdor Lieberman, the Zionist Defence Minister] to resign from his position and the cabinet of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on the brink of collapse.”
He continued, “The Islamic Resistance Front demonstrated its power and ability in its recent struggle against the Zionist regime and that Zionist regime came to understand that any kind of aggression against the Gaza Strip and the people of this region will not be without a response. Now, the Zionist regime has to think and plan hundreds of times for any operation against the Gaza Strip.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Da’moush argued that the Middle East has witnessed two stances against the Zionist regime and said, “The first stance is resistance against this regime and the second is the fear and normalization of relations with Israel.”
Last week, the Gaza Strip witnessed its worst flare-up of violence since the 2014 war. It began with an Israeli commando raid and a spate of deadly airstrikes against the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli aggression triggered retaliatory rocket attacks by Palestinian resistance groups into the southern parts of the occupied territories. Hamas fired more than 460 rockets at the occupied lands in less than 24 hours.
