RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers at Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi referred to the magnificent and epic Arba’in pilgrimage and said, “We must be thankful to God who graced our ummah to attend this this spiritual and divine epic.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom added that Arba’in has an inner divine motive and a divine hand led the ummah to create this magnificent epic and stated, “The twenty million-strong Arba’in pilgrimage is the embodiment of divine values that can be the engine of the Islamic ummah for unity, solidarity and resistance against the enemies and there is also a moral reminder.”
He criticized the Western media for boycotting the Arba’in pilgrimage and said, “When an event occurs in any corner of the world, these huge giants enter and highlight the event but in the course of Arba’in, other than the media of the Islamic Resistance and the Islamic Revolution, Western and the propaganda octopuses of the Western and imperialistic media have been silent in the face of this epic pilgrimage and they have provided false analysis in some cases.”
Ayatollah Arafi condemned the attacks on Arba’in mourning commemorations in some countries, saying, “Unfortunately, in some countries, the mourners of Imam al-Husayn were attacked. In Nigeria this year, just like last year, mourners were attacked and some of them were martyred and wounded in the same manner as Daesh and [the caliph] Mutawakkil acted. These governments must stop confronting the faith-based and divine Arba’in pilgrimage and know that Arba’in brings the message of peace, spirituality and resistance against oppression to the countries of the world.”
The member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution also condemned the reception by the Omani government for Benyamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, and said, “It was a egregious and strategic error. Governments must know that they simply cannot cooperate with the Zionist regime because the people will not forget this issue.”
He argued that Saudi agents were directly involved in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoqji in Turkey and this issue must be pursued. The recent excuses in Denmark were to made mitigate the tragedies in Yemen and Turkey. We hope that Europe won’t continue on its misguided path. The Europeans didn’t take the right actions in regard to the JCPOA and their policies aren’t correct and the nation is following this debate seriously.”
Ayatollah Arafi said that this year, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that the United States would impose new sanctions and cut off Iran’s oil exports on November 4th and added, “The Iranian people must realize that we have been under sanctions for forty years and during this time, more than 100 indicators of development have progressed.”
His Eminence referred to Trump’s absurd comments and said, “[Trump] said that with the withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA, Iran has become weak, has suffered from turmoil and that the people has been separated from the system and that that anti-imperialist slogans have declined.”
He added, “These are the nonsensical words of the president of the United States but Trump and his mercenaries must know that the Iranian people will stand against the imperialist powers by relying on divine power, unity, solidarity and by following the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and won’t forget the slogan over the imperialists of the world, especially the United States and will overcome these stages.”
Ayatollah Arafi stressed, “The slogan ‘Down with America’ means the solidarity of the Islamic ummah and confrontation against the evil governments, of which the United States and Israel are at the head of, and as long as their imperialistic and malicious actions continue, this slogan will not end.”
