RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Quds Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri commemorated Holy Defence Week, which marks the beginning of the Iran-Iraq War, and appreciated the courage of those who sacrificed for the victory of the eight-year long Imposed War, saying, “The culture of the Sacred Defence must always be the frontispiece of the community, especially the authorities.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said that the Iranian people stood for eight years with bravery against the arrogant countries of the world and resisted during the Sacred Defence and gained victory and said, “Today, we must resist against the face of the enemies’ economic warfare with the planning and foresight of the authorities, the assistance of the people and divine grace and defeat the enemies.”
Referring to the September 22nd terrorist attack in Ahvaz, he said, “In this bitter incident, we witnessed the martyrdoms and injuries of some of our loved ones. These crimes were perpetrated by the order of the commanders of the terrorist masters – the United States and those in the region who say that the war must brought to Iran.”
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri added, “Weapons and equipment were provided by the mercenaries of the arrogant powers. This terrorist attack was a cause of great mourning for our people but the passionate presence of the heroic people of Ahvaz in the funeral ceremonies demonstrated that our people are insightful, aware, awake and forethoughtful.”
Referring to the problems of the people of Khuzestan province, the secretary of the Supreme Council of the Seminary said, “The people of Ahvaz and Khuzestan have had many problems throughout the past year but when they saw that the enemies targeted them, they came to the scene with all their being. We offer our condolences to the people of Khuzestan on the martyrdom of their loved ones but we offer our congratulations to them due to their insight and awareness.”
He said that President Hasan Rouhani spoke from a position of the authority of the Islamic system of government at the United Nations General Assembly and said, “In the face of American treachery, the president announced that Iran doesn’t need to meet and negotiate with the enemies but rather we must respond to their treachery. We hope that such positions will exist in all areas against the enemies so that they don’t desire to overthrow the Islamic Revolution and don’t assume that if they impose pressure, our officials will shirk their revolutionary responsibilities. In all areas of internal and external affairs, we must have solid positions on the level of the Islamic system.”
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said that the Friday prayer leaders are the voices and the spokesmen of the people and added, “We call on the heads of the three branches of government, especially the executive branch, to contemplate over the instability existent in the field of foreign exchange, coins, the devaluation of the currency of the country and other economic issues and solve these issues. Every hour, the exchange rate is increasing. How did this occur and how can it be investigated?”
The member of the board of directors of the Assembly of Experts said, “The authorities must have precise planning and use the skills of the eminent economists of the country to overcome these problems. This process is unacceptable and the increase in prices are created turmoil among the people. Unfortunately, some people play the role of the enemies and engage in hoarding. If the United States and Donald Trump are hostile, it’s natural and they’re always the enemies but why do those who have goods and capital in the country oppress people and why do such people follow the enemies’ goals?”
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said, “The enemies are happy about these conditions and the friends of the Islamic Revolution are concerned. Why don’t they manage this situation? Some of the problems are related to the sanctions but another part comes back to the people and authorities. The authorities must revise their behaviours, plans and economic policies and the government must have more oversight and the judiciary must act with greater transparency.”
