RNA – Speaking of his participation in a mourning ceremony marking the martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn, Shaykh Maher Hammoud, the chairman of the International Union of Resistance Scholars, said, “During this period of history, only the resistance in Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen has stood with all of their power against the sedition of the arrogant countries in the region and is like a well-watered place with good weather in the middle of the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula.”
The Lebanese Sunni cleric added that while some people believe that Ashura is an innovation, this movement is full of dignity and resistance and none of the followers of other denominations have the ability to perform such actions.
He considered that the destruction of the Zionist occupying regime as “inevitable” and said, “God promised to destroy the oppressors and God-willing, He will realize this promise through some individuals like Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah.”
Shaykh Hammoud also emphasized that Shi’ahs and Sunnis have consensus in one word and that word is “resistance.”
His Eminence stated, “All Muslims and noble people must be in the queue of resistance and support the Islamic Resistance with all of their ability. Everyone must end their groundless charges against the Islamic Resistance and strongly avoid referring to them as terrorists.”
He said that Sayyid Nasrallah threatened the Zionist enemies and on this basis we see Zionists take these threats very seriously and are investigating the effects of these threats.
Shaykh Hammoud added that sectarian differences must not affect the Islamic Resistance and damage the great issues Muslims agree on.
He emphasized that everyone must pay special attention to the huge sums of money being spent in spreading the differences between Shi’ahs and Sunnis.
