RNA – Speaking during his jurisprudence class at Qom’s Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah ‎Naser Makarem-Shirazi condemned the terrorist attack which occurred in the southwestern ‎Iranian city of Ahvaz on September 22nd.‎

The revered source of emulation called the attack a “crime” and prayed for the quick ‎recovery of those wounded in the attack.‎

He also called for more vigilance and care from security officials and related organizations to ‎prevent such incidents from occurring again.‎

It is worth mentioning that Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi, along with seminary students ‎attending his class, prayed for the forgiveness of those martyred in this attack and recited ‎Surah al-Fatihah for the recovery of the wounded.

On Saturday, terrorists opened fire at a crowd of people during a military parade held to ‎mark the invasion of Iran by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Husyan during the 1980s in ‎Ahvaz, killing 25 military personnel and civilians — including women and children — and ‎wounding at least 68 others.

The Saudi-backed al-Ahwaziyah terror group, which is based in Europe, has claimed ‎responsibility for the assault.

The renowned scholar also issued a message condemning the attack, the full text of which is ‎as follows:‎

We strongly condemn the horrific terrorist attack in Ahvaz, which led to the martyrdom of a ‎group of soldiers and dear members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, ordinary ‎people, and even a young child and injured many others and we hope that, with the efforts ‎of the authorities, the perpetrators will be brought to justice with a strong response and that ‎they will succeed in eradicating this terrorist group.‎

This blind terrorist attack was neither heroic, nor brave, nor was it a struggle, but it was one ‎hundred percent due to foolishness, such that it led to hatred, not just among all the people ‎of the country, but rather among all of the free people of the world, especially the brave, ‎self-sacrificing and believing people of Khuzestan. ‎

The surprise here is how do they say that we were the cause of this incident and that they ‎are buying all this hatred and humiliation for themselves?‎

This spontaneous incident demonstrated that all officials must increase their vigilance and ‎prevent the repetition of such incidents. We sincerely offer our condolences to all the ‎families who lost their loved ones in this incident and we are urgently praying to God to grant ‎the wounded a quick recovery.‎
