RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers at Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi offered his congratulations on Eid al-Ghadir, which marks the appointment of Imam Ali as the successor of the Prophet Muhammad, and described it has “unifying” and added, “This great and divine Eid must be greatly elevated throughout the world and the message of happiness must be conveyed.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom commemorated the martyrs, including Mohammad-Javad Bahonar, and praised the services provided by the government, adding, “We hope that the politicians, with the important guidance recently given by the Supreme Leader of the Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei], will work with a new and honest spirit to serve the people more.”
He referred to the Cooperative Day, an annual celebration of Iran’s cooperative movement, and stated that cooperation is one of the three sides of the economy of the country and stated, “Despite the emphasis given in the constitution and in the laws of the country on cooperation and cooperatives, they don’t have the required status in society that they must and should have. Of course, there are good things that have been accomplished which must be improved with the efforts of the people and officials.”
Referring to Islamic Banking Day, Ayatollah Arafi considered the issue of banking as a issue worthy of discussion and continued, “It’s expected that the views of the sources of emulation and the concerns of economists and thinkers are taken into consideration in reviewing the banking laws on the basis of Islamic teachings, serving the people and in the development of investments.”
The member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution stated that the sources of emulation and economists are concerned about delayed issues, profits, facilities and some banking activities and stressed, “Greater attention must be paid to banking issues and the Central Bank must feel more responsible in directing the bank to reviving industry, producing more and observing the dimensions considered by the sources of emulation and economists. Of course, we praise the competent services of the banks but improvements in these sectors are necessary and must be given attention.”
He appreciated the attention given by President Hasan Rouhani and the representatives to manner and principles, “We hope that the important points raised by the Supreme Leader during his meeting with government officials will be given greater attention. Today, in order to curb inflation, create employment and solve problems, we must truly rely on the Resistance Economy.”
Ayatollah Arafi stressed that cooperation, coordination, empathy, stronger determination, reconstruction of planning infrastructure, reliance on domestic resources, showing strength in external conflicts and relying on the Resistance Economy are among the principles that must be given special attention. The three levels of government and all institutions must stand against the problems with a new look and work to solve the problems of the people.”
The dean of al-Mustafa International University said that the actions taken in the field of the defence industry, especially in the missile and aircraft sectors, are worthy of praise and added, “In order to stand up against the enemies and overcome the important problems that have been created against the Iranian people on the fortieth anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, it’s necessary for the authority and defence of the country to be strengthened.”
He said, “The Basij, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the army and the security, military and police forces must continue their work with full authority and pursue the defence industry. Today, despite all the problems, Iran will stand against the oppressive sanctions of the enemies through divine grace. The great people of Iran, the officials and the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Resistance Front will stand like a steel dam against the traitorous enemies.”
Ayatollah Arafi continued, “Iran has demonstrated that it is superior and has the power to resist and is a regional pioneer in the fight against terrorism and is committed to treaties. We say to [American President Donald] Trump and the American ‘Iran Action Group’ and to all the ill-wishers and traitors that due to God’s grace, we will stand against all conspiracies. The fortieth anniversary of the Islamic Revolution will be held with greater and more magnificence and the people will overcome the difficulties and enemies will once again taste the bitter taste of defeat.”
