Qom Friday Prayer Leader:
Rasa – Ayatollah Arafi said that Iran’s enemies seek to create desperation among the people by maligning the Islamic Revolution and its accomplishments.
RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers at Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi offered his congratulations on the birth anniversary of the tenth imam, Ali ibn Muhammad al-Hadi, and on the upcoming Eid al-Ghadir.
The head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran stressed upon the holding of celebrations marking the ‘Festival of Wilayah (Guardianship) and Imamate’ and development of Eid al-Ghadir ceremonies, as well as answering doubts in regard to Wilayah and Ghadir, especially for the younger generation and said, “Eid al-Ghadir has a general layer that is for all Muslims and humanity and everyone must celebrate this day.”
Commemorating the memory of the martyrs Mohammad-Ali Rajaei and Mohammad-Javad Bahonar, he praised the government’s services to solve the problems of the people, saying, “Since the Islamic Revolution, governments have served the people with the guidance of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] despite all the ups and downs but there have been criticisms and mistakes made.”
Ayatollah Arafi added, “On the fortieth anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, has been great progress in various areas, which must not be neglected. Today, the enemies are attempting to malign all the great achievements of the Revolution.”
The member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution said that while there is appreciation of their efforts, there are still some shortcomings and people have claims that need to be addressed, he said, “Some policies must be reformed and criticism must be accompanied by support.”
Referring to the efforts of the enemies of the Islamic Revolution to harm the Islamic system, he said, “An evil outcry against the great nation of Iran has come to light. On the fortieth anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, the vengeful and arrogant powers of the world, who have experienced defeat, have come to the battlefield fight against the Iranian people and this is a heavy fight but it is manageable.”
Ayatollah Arafi added, “Today, the announced policy of the United States and its allies is to instigate the collapse of the Iranian government and nation, which is why the Iran Action Group was formed by the United States Treasury Department and is trying to establish a network in the world to achieve this aim. We must recognize this confrontation – the strategy that the arrogant powers are pursuing today is to portray the achievements of the nation as insignificant and to highlight the weaknesses of the system in order to make the people hopeless and distrustful of the Islamic system of government.”
Stating that the enemies want to dry up the hope in the hearts of the Iranian people, His Eminence said, “The method to combat this isn’t through expressing weaknesses, shortcomings or criticism. On the other hand, the services, progress and achievements of the Islamic Revolution must be considered as important. Sometimes, the oppressive powers seek to demonstrate that Iran has been completely devastated by corruption in order to do this.”
The dean of al-Mustafa International University described another strategy by the enemies to distract the people and the officials to marginal issues and to link the problems to external issues, saying, “They want to make the people link the problems facing the country to external issues so that the authorities cannot solve the problems through jihad. The only way to overcome this issue is for the officials and the people to return to the same spirit of jihad as existed during the Sacred Defense [Iran-Iraq War] era.”
Ayatollah Arafi cited the creation of insecurity and turmoil as another strategy by the enemies against the Islamic Revolution and said, “The enemies have been blinded by the security and health of our country and thus, they are striving hard to create insecurity and the people and authorities must stand against it.”
He said that another one of their strategies was to eliminate and defeat the Islamic Resistance Front and noted, “Today, the enemies are deeply afraid of the Islamic Resistance and want to defeat this front and separate Iran from it.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said, “The enemies are also seeking to disrupt the foundations of the economy. We must take new actions and take a fresh look at the issues and in this regard, changes are necessary. The entire nation must contribute in order to overcome these problems. The issue of speculation despite the problems is incorrect and the government must make serious plans to combat liquidity, issues with the banking sector and the fight against corruption. The judiciary must be serious about tackling corruption.”
Ayatollah Arafi added that the position and guidance of the Supreme Leader and the sources of emulation are lofty and they can help the country overcome the dangers it faces. In these difficult conditions, we must be united and we must observe rationality and wisdom in our demands.”
In conclusion, he said, “The enemies must know that the nation of Iran has patience and the problems will be reduced through efforts but they will not surrender to the enemies and will always shout ‘Woe unto the wretched!’ and ‘Down with America.’”
