Hujjat al-Islam Haj-Abolqasem-Dolabi
RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Haj-Abolqasem-Dolabi referred to the Day of Arafah, describing the meaning of this day and the true status of this great day, saying, “Arafah was called ‘Arafah’ because it’s the day for the confession of sins and it was on the day when the Prophet Adam confessed his error on the Plain of Arafat and God Almighty forgave him.”

The representative of the people of Zanjan in the Assembly of Expetrs continued, “For this reason, one of the main traditions of this day is that man devotes himself to God Almighty and seeks forgiveness from Him. According to our narrations, God will definitely grant the remorseful people on this day a special favour.”

Referring to the Day of Arafah as the “day for correct servitude,” Hujjat al-Islam Haj-Abolqasem-Dolabi stated, “We have another narration that states that on this day, God Almighty taught the Prophet Abraham the rituals of Hajj and knowledge. Indeed, on this day, man requests from God Almighty the correct method of living and servitude, so that in all parts of life, he manifests this servitude to God Almighty.”

The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom added, “Imam al-Sajjad said, ‘Arafah is the day where day nobody should want anything from anyone except God and everyone should come to the House of God and ask for his desires and needs.’”

Referring to the Supplication of Arafah as one of the richest texts among all the supplications, he said, “One of the best prayers on this day is the supplication of the ‘Master of the Martyrs’ [Imam al-Husayn] on the Day of Arafah. This prayer has contains great wisdom and alongside this, it voices the confession of sins and the asking of forgiveness from God Almighty and encapsulates the pure teachings of monotheism.”

Hujjat al-Islam Haj-Abolqasem-Dolabi has mentioned one of the most prominent acts of this day as the Supplication of Imam al-Husayn and stated, “Perhaps the reason for the virtue of this supplication is that Imam al-Husayn began his journey from Makkah to Karbala on the eighth day of the month of Dhil-Hijjah and began his uprising and in the conditions where the people were celebrating the eve of the ‘ceremony of the sacrifice’ [Eid al-Adha] and the end of the Hajj, he realized that no form of worship was greater than jihad.”

His Eminence emphasized that the Supplication of Imam al-Husayn on this day is important because in the warmth of supplication to God, we must know that moving on the divine path and on the path of jihad is considered as one of the highest examples of worship and that man must not be pleased with supplicating individually but not moving on the transcendent path of Islam and religion.”
