Rasa – A member of Hezbollah’s Executive Council described the bombing of a bus full of Yemeni school children as one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world and named Saudi Arabia responsible for it.
RNA – Speaking during a celebration held in the southern Lebanese town of Kfar Hounah on the anniversary of the victory in the 2006 33-Dar War, Hujjat al-Islam Nabil Qawouq, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, announced that the most heinous humanitarian catastrophe that the world is witnessing is the ongoing catastrophe in Yemeni and stressed. “Saudi Arabia is responsible for this catastrophe.”
Announcing that Riyadh has closed all routes to help Yemen, the Lebanese Shi’ah cleric aid, “The killing of these Yemeni school children has removed all the moderate masks from Saudi Arabia and reveals the falsity of the allegations of moderation.”
Some Western countries, including the United States, consider their Arab allies in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, as “moderate Arab countries.”
Asked about Washington’s claim to be an adherent of human rights, His Eminence said, “For what reason is the United States committing massacres which kill children, women and the elderly in Yemen? The world must know that the United States is deceitful and we cannot believe its side of the story.”
On Wednesday, August 9, Yemeni media reported a Saudi-launched coalition strike on a bus carrying Yemeni students to the town of Dhahyan, in the northern province of Sa’dah, in which at least 51 children were killed and another 79 were wounded.
In other remarks, Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq referred to the formation of a new government in Lebanon and said, “By prolonging the formation of the government, all Lebanese people will be harmed and those who benefit from it are parties that have opened new escapades aimed at changing the political equations and want to delay the results of the parliamentary elections.”
General elections were held in Lebanon on May 6. Although originally scheduled for 2013, the election was postponed three times in 2013, 2014 and 2017 under various pretexts, including the security situation, the failure of the Parliament to elect a new President, and the technical requirements of holding an election.
He added that there is no talk of any problems that Hezbollah or the Amal Movement has been a factor in these events but rather, it quite the contrary – Hezbollah is in contact with various political groups to form the new government as soon as possible.
Lebanese Prime Minister Sa’ad al-Hariri has been in charge of the formation of a new Lebanese cabinet since May 24. However, consultations over differences between the parties on ministerial quotas haven’t been reached yet.
In conclusion, Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq referred to Hezbollah’s great victory in the 33-Day war against the Zionist enemies, saying these, “Wouldn’t have been possible without the blessing of the blood of the martyrs, the wounded and steadfastness of the resistant youth, which was a result of the formation of the Islamic Resistance Axis and the expulsion of Takfiri terrorists from Syria and Iraq and the victory over them and the resistance of the people of Yemen.”
