RNA – Speaking at a funeral ceremony for the martyrs of the southern Lebanese village of Haris, Hujjat al-Islam Ali al-Da’moush, the deputy chairman of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, said that Saudi Arabia is preventing the formation of a new government in Lebanon, despite the general elections being held on May 6, 2018.
The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric said that Saudi Arabia is behind the unrealistic quotas of some political parties in the country, which aren’t proportional to the size of the coalition and the number of parties in the parliament and this is blocking the formation of the government.
He explained that some of these political parties and their supporters, in some regional countries and their embassies in Beirut, don’t want any good for Lebanon.
Hujjat al-Islam al-Da’moush emphasized that the loyal Lebanese people need a government that will solve many crises and increase its stability and resistance and said, “Some people have lost their confidence in the political class, a class which upholds its privileges and hinders it by demanding quotas for the formation of the government.”
Sa’ad al-Hariri was appointed to the cabinet on May 24, 2018, but now, after more than two months, no consultations have been held to form the new government.
In another part of his remarks, His Eminence referred to the anniversary of the 2006 33-Day War, and said, “During the war, the Zionist regime mobilized all its military and political power to weaken the Islamic Resistance and defeat it but because of the power, determination and stability of the Resistance, they were not successful in this direction.”
He said, “After the 2006 war, the occupying Zionist regime tried to weaken the Islamic Resistance through the war on Syria, but was defeated, and today everyone acknowledges the victory of the Islamic Resistance Axis and Syria and the Resistance has more experience and strength.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Da’moush emphasized that for this reason, the Zionist regime isn’t launching a new war against Lebanon and now understands that the Resistance is strong and has become stronger after the war in Syria and added, “Today, the enemies have better information than most of the Lebanese people about the level of the progress of the Islamic Resistance and therefore, when calculating, it didn’t foolishly oppose Lebanon.”
His Eminence continued, "The enemies know that those who stood and fought in the 2006 war are now also fully prepared to defend Lebanon with all their might and courage.”
The 33-Day War of the Israeli regime against Lebanon began on July 12, 2006 and ended without the Zionist regime achieving its goals of completely eliminating Hezbollah and without assassinating its secretary-general [Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah], which was among its goals, and ended with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which was approved on August 11.
In this war, not only did none of the borders change, but also political experts and observers introduced the Zionist regime as the loser of the war.
