RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Hasan Alemi, the representative of the people of Iran’s Khorasan Razavi province in the Assembly of Experts, referred to the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, about components of strengthening national authority against the enemies and said, “The enemies are trying to create differences between the system and the people and separate them from supporting the Islamic Revolution but they will certainly not achieve this goal.”
The Iranian cleric states that the enemies assume that the support of the people for the Islamic system of government is solely dependent on material and economic issues and if it is possible for them to do something, the people give up their support for the Revolution, saying, “The enemies do not know that the peoples’ desires for the Revolution include Islamic values, religious and beliefs along with sovereignty based on Islamic and revolutionary elements which do not involve kowtowing to the enemies.”
He argued that the officials must preserve the dignity and status of the Islamic nation and said, “In this regard, they must act on their canonical and legal duties on the basis of their responsibilities because the people vote for them based upon these issues and have status.”
Ayatollah Alemi added, “The officials must be more careful in understanding and solving the life problems of the people and fix them in the shortest and best possible way. No problem can be solved through misery and laziness.”
Regarding solving the economic problems facing the people of Iran, His Eminence said, “The officials must, in addition to their admirable efforts, all choose the same direction and be united.”
He emphasized, “When people see that the officials, along with protecting Islamic and Revolutionary values, are addressing their problems and trying to overcome them, not only do they not distance themselves from the Islamic system and the Revolution, but rather they will support it with strong determination and will.”
Ayatollah Alemi spoke about the dilemma of aristocracy and pride in the officials, saying, “If a prideful official is unable to perform his duties, the people will be discouraged by him and will not support him. Consequently, such a person will not succeed in strengthening the goals of the system.”
He argued that all of the prideful people are hated, he pointed out, “Those elected by the people are the servants of the people. In the religion of Islam, the principle and the root of pride is Satan. He who takes responsibility and is prideful toward his people, first, destroys his dignity and then loses his status over time. Also, the aristocrats also create pride in man, so the officials must avoid these characteristics in order to remain their status in the hearts of the people.”
