On July 3, Saudi-led warplanes bombarded a wedding party in al-Dhahir District in Sa’dah Governorate, killing at least 11 people and wounding another 11 people.

Yemen has been under brutal aggression since March 2015 by Saudi-led Coalition, in a bid to restore control to fugitive president Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi who is Riyadh’s ally.

In memory of the horrific catastrophe of Iran Air Flight 655 which was carried out by the United States in 1988, Ayatollah Jannati emphasized, “By pointing out the crimes of the Great Satan, the true face of American human rights has been demonstrated to the world.”

On July 3, 1988, Iran Air Flight 655, a scheduled civilian passenger flight from Tehran to Dubai, was shot down by an SM-2MR surface-to-air missile fired from USS Vincennes, a guided missile cruiser of the United States Navy. The aircraft, an Airbus A300, was destroyed and all 290 people on board, including 66 children, were killed.

He referred to the process of the victory of the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria and the liberation of other parts of the country and offered his appreciation for the resistance by the Islamic Resistance forces against the conspiracies of the enemies and their eviction of Daesh.

In conclusion, Ayatollah Jannati referred to the quick punishment of the perpetrator of the brutal crime which occurred on Tehran’s Pasdaran Street and which resulted in the martyrdom of three of the deputies of the police force and said, “The judiciary must be grateful for the prompt handling of the case and its enforcement.”

During the February 19 unrest in Tehran, Mohammad Salas drove a bus into a group of police officers on Tehran’s Pasdaran Street, killing three and wounding a number of others. In a separate attack, one member of the Basij forces was run over and killed, while another was stabbed to death.

Salas confessed to his crime and was sentenced to death following legal and judicial procedures in the Iranian courts.
