Joint educational courses held between the University of Religions and Denominations and the International University of Kyrgyzstan

RNA – Dr. Yahya Jahangiri, the general manager of International Cooperation Office at the University of Religions and Denominations in Qom and the official responsible for holding joint educational courses at the International University of Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek, has said that despite the majority of the Kyrgyz people being Muslims and having many cultural commonalities with Iran, unfortunately our lack of activity in the universities of Kyrgyzstan has resulted in the serious growth of the activities of Wahhabism in the country.

As a result of a memorandum of understanding between the International University of Kyrgyzstan and the University of Religions and Denominations signed during the visit by Ayatollah Mohammad-Hoseyn Mokhtari, the dean of the University of Religions and Denominations, to Kyrgyzstan, these courses were held this year.

In these courses, which were held in English language, about 100 MA and PhD students and instructors participated.

Islamic unity, the policy of Islamic Republic of Iran based on Islamic thoughts, Islamic diplomacy, the role of Shi’ahs and Sunnis in Iran, the discussion of Islamic philosophy and the cultural and religious commonalities of Iran and Kyrgyzstan were among the subjects taught.

At the end of the course, certificates were issued for all participants.
