RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Asgar Dirbaz, the representative of the people of West Azerbaijan province in the Assembly of Experts, said, “Before the Islamic Republic of Iran entered into negotiations with the P5+1 group of countries in regard to its nuclear program, heavy sanctions and threats were imposed against the noble nation of Iran but the Iranian people stood firm in maintaining their unity and solidarity.”
The senior Iranian politician stated that while the P5+1 group had promised before the signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) that if Iran fulfilled its obligations, they would lift the sanctions but all of these promises were only mentioned on paper and no actions were taken in practice.
He emphasized that the Resistance Economy is the reason that Iran has been only minimally vulnerable to the sanctions imposed by foreign powers and said, “The economic sanctions will lose their effectiveness if we put our focus on using domestic products.”
Referring to the explicit response of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei] to the withdrawal from the United States from the JCPOA, Hujjat al-Islam Dirbaz pointed out, “Just as the Supreme Leader of the Revolution said, the Americans have reneged on their promises and the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA has been proven to be an act of treachery by this country against the people Iran and the world once again.”
The dean of the University of Qom said, “The people of Iran are the same people who had resisted against the oppressive sanctions imposed by the United States and the West and so after the withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA, they will also resist against these sanctions with the guidance of the Supreme Leader and by supporting Iranian-manufactured products.”
Stating that the JPCOA has domestic and foreign outcomes, he said, “The founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran [Imam Khomeyni] had repeatedly warned of the evil plots and actions of the United States in Iran and in the world. For this reason, the nature of the United States and the false regime of Israel was also evident to the Iranian nation before the Islamic Revolution.”
Hujjat al-Islam Dirbaz added that the treason of the United States in the nuclear negotiations once again proved to the naïve individuals who had trusted in the arrogant powers of the world that the United States is our enemy and will never abandon its hostility.
His Eminence said that on the international scene, the JCPOA also demonstrated that the Islamic Republic of Iran showed goodwill and fulfilled of all its obligations. “Therefore, if some of the countries supposed that Iran would not fulfill its obligations, it demonstrated that the Islamic Republic of Iran was observant of its treaties.”
In conclusion, Hujjat al-Islam Dirbaz has argued that the noble Iranian people will uproot the arrogant powers in the world and said, “The United States’ hostility to Iran is undoubtedly not merely due to the actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The United States is hostile to the principle of Islam and Islamic ideals and for this reason, it uses every opportunity to distort the image of Islam in the world.”
Speaking in the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House in Washington, DC, on May 8th, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced his decision to withdraw the United States from the nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries [China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States; plus Germany] and to re-impose sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
