RNA – Speaking at a ceremony marking the death anniversary of Imam Khomeyni in Shahr-e Kord entitled “Imam Khomeyni: The Reviver of Pure Muhammadan Islam,” Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Ali Nekounam, the representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei] in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, emphasized that Imam Khomeyni was one of the most prominent people in the world and noted, “It is safe to say that Imam Khomeyni is not comparable with any other person because he was able to give life to Islam with initiative and dynamism and show the way of happiness to the people.”
Imam Sayyed Ruhollah Mousavi-Khomeyni, the founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, passed away on June 3, 1989.
The Friday prayer leader of Shahr-e Kord said that the late Imam Khomeyni had nothing to himself and he was the only continuant of the path of the prophets and the friends of God and stated, “The whole life of Imam Khomeyni faded into the path of pure Muhammadan Islam such that he didn’t leave the path of Islam and the religion of God for even a moment and whatever he said was the word of God and he remains in history forever.”
He referred to Imam Khomeyni as the most complete man on earth after the prophets and imams and pointed out, “The Imam was one of the greatest and most outstanding blessings of the Lord in our time and we must speak, hear, recognize and analyze him and with this blessing, we seal a deep link with God.”
Hujjat al-Islam Nekounam considered the continuation of the path of Imam Khomeyni as the most important mission of the people of Iran today and stated, “The path of Imam Khomeyni must always be alive and dynamic for the general public of society because the Imam was an obvious example of the practice of righteous deeds and faith and he practiced righteous deeds at the highest level.”
His Eminence said that bringing pure Muhammadan Islam to the scene is the most important righteous act of the Imam and continued, “The tyrants and arrogant powers tried to diminish the beautiful face of Islam for centuries but they could not and Imam came to bring the humanizing face of Islam to the scene which was successful as well.”
He emphasized that self-development, avoiding backbiting, avoiding disobedience to God, resistance and simple living were among the most important features of Imam Khomeyni and added, “The general society, especially the youth, must take the late Imam as a role-model and must place self-refinement and self-development as the most important axes of their lives because it is only in the shadow of monotheistic faith that the enemies cannot gain dominance over the Islamic society.”
Hujjat al-Islam Nekounam said that the Defenders of the Holy Shrines are the best schooled on the path of the late Imam and added, “The Imam ruled over himself so that he could rule over the hearts and he controlled himself so that he became dear to the people.”
Emphasizing that Ayatollah Khamenei is another Imam Khomeyni, said, “Certainly, many years after the death of Imam Khomeyni, the dear Leader was the only one who was able to follow the path of Imam Khomeyni in the true meaning of the world and did not deviate from the path of Islam and religion which is due to his strong faith and resistant spirit.”
