RNA - In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Ali Malakouti, the representative of the people of East Azerbaijan province in the Assembly of Experts, offered his condolences on the anniversary of the death of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Sayyed Ruhollah Mousavi-Khomeyni, who died on June 3, 1989 and said, “Imam Khomeyni’s ideals have many characteristics which are all important and remarkable.”
The revered teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom said, “The lofty character of Imam Khomeyni led to the masses of people following him and ultimately lead to the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran against the hegemonic powers.”
He emphasized that the Islamic Revolution by the noble nation of Iran is unique in the world and added, “It is safe to say that other revolutions, such as the October Revolution in Russia, cannot reach the level of the Iranian people’s revolution.”
Hujjat al-Islam Malakouti said, “The late Imam had a firm belief in God Almighty, the Prophet Muhammad and the religion of Islam. For this reason, he considered himself bound to seek divine commandments in various matters.”
The Iranian cleric added, “The late Imam wasn’t afraid of the actions of the great powers of the world in relation to the operations of the Islamic Republic of Iran. For this same reason, he repeatedly emphasized in this statements that if a person does something for God, he will never be discouraged or defeated.”
He expressed regret at the fact that some want to use the late Imam to achieve their goals from the Imam Khomeyni, said, “Imam Khomeyni’s actions and demands are the best standards and criteria upon which we can assess the claims of those who follow him.”
Hujjat al-Islam Malakouti continued, “If there were people who claimed to follow the line of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran but their actions and statements were opposite to the thoughts of Imam Khomeyni, then there is no doubt that such people are not honest in their claims.”
His Eminence stated that the protection of the Islamic system of government from the point of view of Imam Khomeyni is obligatory. Therefore, those who weaken the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran through their own conduct and positions cannot claim that they are following the late Imam.”
Hujjat al-Islam Malakouti emphasized that the weakening of the Wali al-Faqih (Guardian-Jurist) means the weakening of the Islamic system, noting, “Today, the greatness of the system depends on the power of the Wali al-Faqih. For this reason, to the extent that we are the followers of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution [Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Ali Khamenei], we have helped to consolidate the system with this same thought.”
