RNA – In a meeting with the International al-Quds Day organizing committee in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon, Ayatollah Afif al-Nablusi, the Friday prayer leader of Sidon, said, “Palestine will be the source of human pride, munificence and dignity and we must strive as much as possible to support Palestine until it is completely liberated and the Israeli occupiers are expelled.”
He emphasized that al-Quds Day is the day of the free, the day of Palestine, the day of resistance and the day of confrontation with the Zionists and added, “Therefore, we stand with each Palestinian who takes stones, knives or weapons against the invaders.”
In conclusion, Ayatollah al-Nablusi stated, “We are standing against a new round of struggles in which the Palestinians must achieve power and act on their historical and human responsibility.”
Ayatollah Sayyed Ruhollah Khomeyni, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, named the last Friday of the lunar fasting month of Ramadan as International al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day. The event will fall on June 8 this year.
Every year on International al-Quds Day millions of people around the world, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, stage rallies on this day to voice their support for the Palestinian nation and repeat their call for an end to the Zionist regime’s atrocities and its occupation of the Palestinian territories.
