RNA – Speaking at the International Conference of Resistance Scholars held in al-Sahah, Lebanon, Hujjat al-Islam Na’im Qasim, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, spoke on the issue of Palestine.
According to a report, the Lebanese Shi’ah cleric said, “After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the first practical act of Imam Khomeyni was to give the Zionist embassy in Tehran to the Palestinians in order to show that the Palestinian issue was a priority.”
He added, “Hezbollah has made a lot of sacrifices towards the liberation of Palestine, including the 2000 and 2006 operations against Israel. Now, a new phase of resistance to the United States, the Zionist regime and their mercenaries has now begun.”
“The main goal at this new stage is the liberation of the whole of Palestine,” Hujjat al-Islam Qasim said, adding, “At this stage, we ask all Palestinian groups not to be deprived from even the minimum level of unity.”
Strongly criticizing some of the Persian Gulf rulers for normalizing relations with the Zionist regime, His Eminence said, “Normalizing relations with the Zionist regime is as to drain the support for the Palestinians. The Arab people are responsible for holding their rulers accountable in order to prevent any deviation from the Palestinian issue.”
He also said that what is described as peace or the “two-state solution” is completely dismissed because it gives Zionists part of the Palestinians territory.
Hujjat al-Islam Qasim noted that the achievements and victories of the Islamic Resistance Axis are in fact a victory for Palestine, adding, “The Islamic Resistance Axis is an axis without organizational structure and is an axis based on resistance and confrontation with Israel. We must also support the Yemeni, Bahraini, Iraqi, Syrian and Lebanese people in their struggles.”
In regard to the recent Lebanese parliamentary elections and the victory of the Islamic Resistance, the senior Hezbollah official he said. “All of the successes of the Islamic Resistance Axis are successes for Palestine and some arrogant Arab countries have been striving to defeat the representatives of the Islamic Resistance in the elections in order to prevent them from reaching the parliament.”
In conclusion, Hujjat al-Islam Qasim stated, “Today, in the time of victories, we are pursuing, working and struggling. It will not hurt us if the United States decides to move its embassy to Jerusalem al-Quds. This is a unilateral decision that the Palestinians will not agree to. Therefore, there is no value for a decision that is unacceptable to its people. This catastrophe that happened seventy years ago will, God willing, be a motive for change, liberation and resistance.”
