RNA – In his jurisprudence class on May 14th, Hujjat al-Islam Javad Mojtahed-Shabestari, the representative of the people of West Azerbaijan province in the Assembly of Experts, referred to the withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), said, “The presence of the Iranian people and their resistance to problems is because they were educated in the school of Ramadhan, in eight years of the Holy Defense [Iran-Iraq War] and their resistance against the many years of sanctions indicates the support of the Iranian people for the Islamic Republic.”
The member of the Expediency Council continued, “Morality is dead, especially in the United States and Europe. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei] said: ‘We are not confident in them [the Europeans] because they are following the United States.’ The Europeans must provide a solid guarantee to Iran.”
Arguing that any country can take action in regard to its defensive issues, Hujjat al-Islam Mojtahed-Shabestari emphasized, “The range of their missiles is unrelated to foreigners so why this issue does not work for the Zionist regime which has nuclear warheads and commits such a great number of crimes? But why is it a problem for Iran, which is not certainly seeking nuclear weapons and is seeking peaceful nuclear technology. The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the oppressed people because Islam says: ‘Be an enemy of the oppressor and helper of the oppressed.’” [Imam Ali in Nahj al-Balaghah, Letter 47]
The head of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly added, “In Syria and Iraq, Islamic Iran has helped the oppressed and expelled the insurgents. They criticize the Islamic Republic because the Zionist regime is safe and secure and the United States is trying to protect this regime.”
He emphasized, “If European countries follow the United States, the JPCOA will be completely terminated and enrichment will resume but if they give a complete guarantee, it may be possible to cooperate with them but the fact is that ‘the non-believers are one nation’ and there is trust in their guarantees.”
Speaking in the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House in Washington, DC, on May 8th, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced his decision to withdraw the United States from the nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries and to re-impose sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
