RNA – Speaking at a ceremony marking the birth anniversary of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra, which was held by the Women’s Council in the Lebanese city of Nabatieh, Hujjat al-Islam Na’im Qasim, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, said, “The United States wants Lebanon to submit to Zionist policies but Hezbollah is a barrier against the United States and the Zionist regime.”
The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric added, “The United States does not spare any effort to attack, assume or impose sanctions on Hezbollah in various forms and all of this is due to the fact that Hezbollah refuses to pledge allegiance to the Zionist regime and its emphasis on the equation of the army, the nation, and the Islamic Resistance.”
Hujjat al-Islam Qasim emphasized, “Hezbollah will stand against the occupiers and will participate in the elections to represent the nation but the United States will intervene in the elections in order to reduce the number of our representatives and strengthen groups, blocks and forces which are opposed to us in order to surround us.”
He said, “The United States has been defeated and there is no way back. Hezbollah is the pillar of modern Lebanon and Lebanon cannot be strong and stable without this pillar, which has become an integral part of the government, building institutions, delineating the future, establishing independence and the prevention of occupation."
His Eminence continued, “We are protecting Lebanon by being prepared and we have not stopped for even a moment. Hezbollah will support Lebanon and strengthen the deterrence to the Zionist enemies and will not be forgotten even for a moment. We will put Zionist movements in check and stand against any aggression.”
Hujjat al-Islam Qasim emphasized the need for widespread and universal participation in the elections and noted, “The parliamentary elections are a referendum on our popularity and not on the success regarding the number of deputies elected. The elections are a national referendum and we want to demonstrate numbers to the world that prove the strength of the Islamic Resistance project in the face of the challenges.”
Lebanon’s parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held on May 6th.
