RNA – Speaking today during his advanced jurisprudence class at Qom’s Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi referred to the current situation in the world, saying, “When we look at the current situation of the world, we look at the outward aspects of the world. Organizations, such as the United Nations, the Security Council, institutions in support of the oppressed and even animal protection groups, exist.”
The revered source of emulation added, “But when we look at the inner aspects of the current situation in the world, there are three principles: intimidation, hypocrisy and lying at the ultimate extent. It’s strange that the people of the world are slowly getting used to and accepting these issues. The United States is coming from one side of the world to [North] Korea, on the other side of the world, and saying ‘Why do you want to build an atomic bomb?’ while thousands of atomic bombs are in their arsenal.’”
He argued that the Americans and the West are only thinking of securing their own interests and stated, “That is why they say that other countries must not be strong, they want to be the only strong power in the world in order to implement their evil goals.”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said, “These countries have a variety of missiles but they are putting pressure on Islamic Iran because it has missiles to defend themselves. This doesn’t mean that they can have anything they want but Iran must not have anything to defend ourselves. The enemies say that Iran must be weak in order that their sovereignty is maintained in the region and the world.”
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary expressed his criticism of Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French Foreign Minister, in regard to his remarks on Iran’s defensive and missile issues and said, “The French Foreign Minister and others allow themselves to talk about issues pertaining to Iran easily and want to intimidate Iran.”
Referring to the lies of the arrogant powers, he said, “Everyone knows that Iraq has succeeded in weakening Daesh and Iran has played an important role in this regard. Everyone knows that Hezbollah and Iran played an important role in fighting Daesh in Syria but some countries say that accuse Iran of being a supporter of terrorism, while they admit that they created Daesh.”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said that the true supporters of terrorism have become so angry and lied so much that they regard themselves as against terrorism and introduce Iran and Hezbollah as advocates of terrorism and said, “The arrogant powers and the West, as a lie, introduce themselves as the ‘defenders of the oppressed,’ but where do they defend the rights of the oppressed?”
His Eminence added, “For years, they provided Saudi Arabia with weapons to destroy Yemen but in a ridiculous move, they showed a piece of metal which demonstrated that Iran had given missiles to Yemen. Their intimidation, hypocrisy and lying has reached such a level. The world is slowly getting used to it and nobody says anything about the depravity of these issues. Why should everyone be weak and peasants and other countries can be strong and be overlords?”
He said that negotiating over the missile issue was meaningless and stressed, “They say that there should be negotiations about the missile and defense issues. Why should negotiations be held over this issue? Why don’t these countries start with their own? The French and the West have accommodated the hypocrites who are real terrorists who are real terrorists while assassinating thousands.”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi added, “We need to be pessimistic about the current world, which is dominated by these bullies and we must not be trusting because if we are harmed, in general, we cannot prevent their actions unless humanity revolts against their bullying and puts them in their place.”
