RNA – Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad-Taqi al-Modarresi, a senior Iraqi Shi’ah scholar, welcomed dialogue between Iraq’s central government and the authorities of the Kurdistan Region regarding the ongoing challenges in the region and remarked, “I hope that Iraq serves as a model for other nations to engage in peaceful negotiations rather than armed conflicts.”
In his weekly statement, the Shi’ah cleric asked Turkish officials to raise their awareness to the maximum level in order to prevent a war which has no benefit for Iraq and the whole region.
He added, “Through constructive negotiations we can make peace and justice.”
As reported by Ahlul-Bayt News Agency, elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah al-Modarresi advised Yemeni soldiers, especially the troops in southern Yemen, to engage in peaceful dialogues and stop armed conflict, saying,“The future of Yemen and its progress will be decided through holding legitimate elections in the country not by guns and shooting bullets.”
In conclusion, Ayatollah al-Modarresi asked Islamic countries to stay vigilant and make effort for their nations’ progress and happiness.
