RNA – Speaking in the southern Lebanese town of al-Abbasiyah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Hashim Safiuddin, the chairman of the Executive Council of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance group Hezbollah, emphasized on a strong coalition with the Amal Movement in Lebanon in the 6 May election and said, “This coalition is only aimed at serving the Lebanese people and is never a sectarian or passive coalition but is a coalition based on a clear vision of resistance and pursuing political priorities in order to solve national problems.”
The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric stressed that disrupting this coalition is impossible and added, “This coalition brought great and powerful victories against difficult challenges and Zionist and Takfiri threats against Lebanon, stood up to American pressure and didn’t allow sedition and division.”
Hujjat al-Islam Safiuddin said, “Hezbollah’s alliance with the Amal Movement and other important and influential political groups has protected Lebanon from harm but some groups are working to undermine Lebanon’s stability.”
He also criticized the efforts of some phenomena to normalize relations with the Zionist enemies, saying, “These groups have never stood against Israel and have served this regime over the past several years. They think that peace will be achieved with the enemies but in 2000, they were faced with the liberation of Lebanon from the occupiers.”
The senior Hezbollah official added, “Those who attack us recall that, a few months ago, we defeated the Takfiris and expelled them from the country. We don’t regret fighting the Takfiris and the confrontation with the Zionists and we all know that these attackers won’t have a place in Lebanon's new political arena.”
Hujjat al-Islam Safiuddin said, “We will always stand against the Saudi projects and conspiracies against Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Yemen and the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime. We will vigorously protest against the [Zionist] plans for Jerusalem al-Quds and Palestine and its sacred places and the pressures taken in opposition to our resistance against the Saudi policies in the region do not have any importance.”
