RNA – Shaykh Bilal Sha’ban, the secretary-general of the Islamic Unification Movement of Lebanon, met with Shaykh Maher Abdul-Razzaq, head of the country’s Reformation and Unity Movement, and they discussed the latest developments in both domestic and foreign affairs.
In the meeting, Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq strongly criticized the United States’ intervention in Lebanon’s internal affairs, and said, “Welcoming an American official [the Treasury’s Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing, Marshall Billingslea] in Lebanon and allowing his involvement in banking affairs is a mistake and a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty.”
The Lebanese Sunni cleric added that Billingslea explicitly insulted the Lebanese people with his false allegations against the Islamic Resistance [Hezbollah], saying, “We are proud of the Islamic Resistance and its forces and any aggression against the Islamic Resistance is considered as aggression against the various strata of the Lebanese nation.”
Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq insisted that the policies of the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime in various fields are also condemned and that any cooperation or normalization with the enemies would violate the dignity of the Lebanese people and the blood of the martyrs who protected Lebanon from the enemies with their blood.
He called on all media outlets to oppose the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime and stated, “We call on all political and popular groups to adopt unified stances in regard to this issue and to work to protect the dignity, sovereignty and achievements of the Islamic Resistance and achieve victory over the enemies.”
The head of the Reformation and Unity Movement continued, “We condemn the words of the President of the United States [Donald Trump] in regard to Jerusalem al-Quds and emphasize that this issue will only end with the liberation of this land. Palestine is in the hearts and minds of the Arabs and Muslims and we are certain that this land will be liberated and returned to its owners.”
Shaykh Abdul-Razzaq said that President Trump’s threat to starve the Palestinian people cannot force Palestinians and Islamic Resistance groups to bow down to them and said, “Arab rulers have a duty to provide financial assistance and weapons to the Palestinian people in order for them to be able to stand up against the American and Zionist project.”
Stressing that Jerusalem al-Quds is the eternal capital of Palestine, His Eminence called on the Arab kings to stop their wars on Yemen, Bahrain and Syria and support the resistance of the Palestinian people to liberate their land.
