RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi referred to the upcoming 39th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, which will be celebrated on February 11th, and said, “Today, there are several concerns about the 39th anniversary of the holy establishment of Islamic Republic of Iran, which everyone must try to resolve.”
The Friday prayers of Qom added, “The enemies and their plans against the Islamic Republic of Iran have created dissension and social faults, the shattering of the transcendental values of Islam, economic hardship, unemployment and detachment between the people and the authorities and we must take a more serious look at these issues.”
The head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran continued, “The purification of the hegemonic and monarchical systems, the manipulation and disruption of systems by foreigners, the alteration of the preferences of the people and the authorities, turning the administrative system away from divine values and revolution, changing of the revolutionary approach towards work and the neglect of the great Islamic civilization’s approach towards this are a few of the serious concerns that we face on the eve of the 39th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and must be given consideration in order to solve these problems and dilemmas.”
Ayatollah Arafi said, “Unfortunately, at present, some people on the internet and social media networks are trying to demonstrate the imperialist system as attractive. The imperialist system is completely oppressive and this is a great tragedy.”
In another part of his sermon, the member of the Supreme Council of the Seminary said that the Islamic Revolution has provided a lot of services to the people, “Today, some are deliberately seeking to divert our minds from the services and efforts of the Islamic Revolution. While, if we look at the statistics, we will notice the great progress of the Islamic Revolution in various areas. These developments must be explained to all people, especially the new generation.”
Referring to the achievements of the Islamic Revolution, he said, “One of the greatest achievements of the Islamic Revolution was independence and this independence was not easily achieved, but rather many people were martyred in this path. The independence of the Islamic Republic of Iran is a rare phenomenon and very few countries have this kind of independence.”
Ayatollah Arafi stated that the distortion of the general minds in regard to the achievements of the Islamic Revolution is a betrayal of the young generation and added, “Freedom and religious democracy are a new model and the freedom to criticize are among the other achievements of the Islamic Revolution which did not exist before the revolution. The development of infrastructure in water, electricity, gas, transportation and the development of cities are among the another achievements.”
The dean of al-Mustafa International University noted that many steps have been taken in the field of the pharmaceutical and medical treatment industries and there have also been many advances in education and literacy.
He stated that advances in the field of science, technology and research, an excellent scientific rank in the world and the region, progress in the field of science and culture, progress in the field of industry and mining, major political and military victories in the Holy Defense [Iran-Iraq War] against the attackers, the great victory of the Islamic Resistance and advancements in the field of the defensive industries are among the achievements of the Islamic Revolution which must be explained to the people.
In conclusion, Ayatollah Arafi stressed, “On the eve of the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, we renew our covenant with Imam Khomeyni, Ayatollah Khamenei and the martyrs with expressive statements and we will make an agreement that we will strive to overcome the challenges by means of the leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei. By putting aside our problems and with a comprehensive and precise plan and a return to the identity of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian nation stands strongly and firmly upon its covenant with the Islamic Revolution.”
