RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mahdi Masaeli, a professor and researcher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom, referred to the insolent statements by the ‘Mi6 Shi’ah’ phenomenon against the Islamic establishment and Wilayat al-Faqih, said, “The Shirazi family has been closely connected with those who oppose the Islamic Republic for several years and he has defined his religious policies in this direction.”

His Eminence added, “Since the post-election sedition of 2009 derisive statements have been expressed by certain individuals and they were not clear but the external consequences of this phenomenon, which was organized abroad, were explained. Individuals linked to this phenomenon expressed their positions against the Islamic Revolution on hostile media networks, such as the Voice of America, where they were present as executives and experts.”

Hujjat al-Islam Masaeli said that even some of them created organizations abroad in the name of religious groups in order that political opponents to Iran’s Islamic establishment could meet and organize attacks against Wilayat al-Faqih [Guardianship of the Jurisprudent] and the Islamic establishment in an organized manner.”

The researcher in the Islamic Seminary continued, “They gathered everyone who had the title of a clergyman and who was opposed to the Islamic Republic and Wilayat al-Faqih, even though some of the movements contradicted their thoughts. This phenomenon has been closely linked to anti-revolutionary elements and they imagine that the religious and sectarian policies of the Islamic Republic are declining and they can identify themselves as the future religious leaders of Iran.”

He argued that the Mi6 Shi’ah phenomenon has been pursuing their activities in an organized and targeted manner since 2009 and noted, “Their recent statements are a continuation of a series of lectures in which they seek to demonstrate and present themselves in the Shi’ah community as a school of thought which is different from the revolutionary school of thought.”

Hujjat al-Islam Masaeli noted that during the month of Muharram, the entire country serves the Husayni mourners, saying, “Of course, the Islamic Republic has repeatedly emphasized that behaviours, such as self-flagellation, must be abandoned. The Mi6 Shi’ah describes mourning as only involving self-flagellation and in a recent speech, a member of the Shirazi family referred  to this issue. Although this phenomenon exists in some of the traditional religious circles, this is not known among the public. For this reason, there are efforts to present the Shirazi family and mourners in the Islamic Republic of Iran as oppressed.”
