RNA – Speaking at the opening ceremony of a cultural course for women in Beirut, Hujjat al-Islam Na’im Qasim, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, said, “The strategic plan announced by the United States’ Department of Defense is far from a war against Takfiri terrorism, which is, of course, a natural issue.”

The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric added that the United States has established Takfiri terrorism and thus, it cannot destroy the tool which it had created and noted, “The United States is seeking to restore its hegemony over the world, hegemony which does not meet the most basic human rights standards.”

Hujjat al-Islam Qasim emphasized the United States’ inability to realize this goal in the light of the presence of the noble Islamic Resistance [Hezbollah] in the region and the world, saying, “The United States is frustrated with the defeat of Daesh by the Islamic Resistance because the defeat of Daesh, the Zionist regime and the project to divide of the region means the failure of the United States and on this basis, it has turned to threats.”

The senior member of Hezbollah said that it is not possible for the United States to fulfill its goals in the Middle East, saying, “The President of the United States Donald Trump was able announce his decision on the recognition of Jerusalem (al-Quds) as the capital of the Zionist regime but he does not have the ability to separate Jerusalem (al-Quds) from the hearts and minds of the men, women and even children because their hearts are stronger than Zionist tanks and fighter jets.”

On 6 December, Trump announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem (al-Quds) as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem (al-Quds).

His Eminence has called on everyone to broadly support the Palestinian people because the achievements of the Islamic Resistance Axis lead to the creation a real future in the region.

Hujjat al-Islam Qasim referred to the upcoming parliamentary elections in Lebanon, saying “The elections will be held on their scheduled date and any attempts to delay them are in vain and are an attempt to waste the time of the Lebanese people. These political differences will have no effect on the parliamentary elections and the elections will be held on the same day.”

He emphasized that Hezbollah in engaged in ongoing talks with other political parties and groups in order to determine the alliances and electoral regulations and it is definite that there will be coalition with the Amal Movement in all constituencies without exception, in the sense that the electoral lists will be shared between Hezbollah and the Amal Movement throughout the country.

Lebanon’s parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held on 6 May, 2018.
