Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani:
Rasa – Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani, referring to the tragic sinking of the Sanchi oil tanker, called on the government authorities to follow up on the cause of the accident and attempt to reduce the incidence of the casualties.
RNA – In a statement, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani offered his condolences on the deaths of a number of compatriots in the heartbreaking collision sinking of the Sanchi oil tanker in the East China Sea.
The Iranian ship, carrying 136,000 tons (almost one million barrels) of ultra light crude oil from Iran, had been in flames for eight days, since it collided with a cargo ship off the coast of China on 6 January.
The tanker, a Panama-flagged vessel owned and operated by National Iranian Tanker, was headed to South Korea to deliver its cargo. It had a crew of 32, including 30 Iranians and two Bangladeshis, all of whom declared dead on Sunday.

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most MercifulThe horrible event of the sinking of the oil tanker that led to the loss of the best sons of Iran is a cause of grief and sorrow.Undoubtedly, this is a great disaster for us, the great nation of Iran and the dear family members of the victims, that must be endured through the grace of the Lord of the Words.It is hoped that the responsible authorities will follow the cause of the accident as soon as possible and do the necessary work to comfort the families of these loved ones.While expressing my deep sympathy, I offer my condolences on the passing of the loved ones to the families to the Iranian nation and pray to God Almighty to bestow His mercy upon their souls and to grant them forgiveness.Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani26 Rabi’ al-Thani 14392018 14 January
