Senior Hezbollah Official:
Rasa – Hujjat al-Islam Na’im Qasim stressed the necessity for political, media and cultural mobilization to explain the realities of the Palestinians and the occupiers.
RNA – Speaking at the conference of the Islamic Radio and Television Federation in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Wednesday, Hujjat al-Islam Na’im Qasim, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, spoke on the methods to confront the decision of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the “capital” of Israel and move its embassy to the holy city, and said, “Trump’s decision reveals the responsibility the to protect Jerusalem al-Quds and end the occupation of Palestine.”
The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric said, “When the United States was the only leader of the world, it could not attain legitimization for the Zionist regime and today it is getting weaker, it is struggling with internal and global crises and it certainly does not have the ability to fulfill its aspirations.”
He added that the United States will never be an impartial mediator in the political process but is considered as a police officer in the Palestinian negotiations that seeks to placate Palestine away from its demands.
Hujjat al-Islam Qasim explained that this decision by the United States demonstrates a weakness in the country, saying, “The United States has concluded that it cannot bring peace through persuasion and this is why it seeks to consolidate the occupation through the means of weapons and financial assistance and on this basis, it uses the threat of cutting its financial aid against the Palestinian negotiators.”
The senior member of the Islamic Resistance continued, “Jerusalem al-Quds will never become the capital of the occupying regime through the decision of the United States but it will remain Palestine’s eternal capital based on the decision of the Palestinian people and will surely return to its people in a free and victorious manner.”
Referring to the Zionist regime’s attempts to swallow the Palestinian’s land piece by piece, he said, “To counteract the plots against Palestine, we must look at Jerusalem al-Quds from two angles, first, the angle of responsibility and, secondly, the angle of freedom. Jerusalem al-Quds is a Palestinian, Arab, Islamic, Christian and human responsibility and must not be considered as only a Palestinian or an Arab issue.”
Hujjat al-Islam Qasim called for the liberation of Palestine and Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and the region and stressed, “Resistance is the only way to liberate Palestine, which the Intifada is part of. Everyone must defend resistance and the Intifada as a political, cultural, educational and military option and realize that there is no substitute for resistance.”
The deputy-secretary general of Hezbollah emphasized that the Islamic Resistance Axis was able to defeat Takfiri terrorism, despite the support of the countries of the world and said, “We must adhere to cultural, media and political mobilization and explain the facts about the occupiers and the dangers and conspiracies posed by the arrogant powers of the world as well as explain the history of Palestine and Jerusalem al-Quds, so that the new generation of the region and the world will become familiar with the facts.”
On December 6th, Trump defied global warnings and said Washington formally recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as the “capital” of Israel and would begin the process of moving its embassy to the occupied city, breaking with decades of American policy.
