RNA – Speaking at a husayniyah in the southern Lebanese village of Tayr Falsieh, Hujjat al-Islam Nabil Qawouq, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, said that by announcing Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of Israel, the United States has called the Islamic world to war.

The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric said, “The United States is partnering with the Zionist regime in all sorts of crimes against Muslims. The United States and Israel have nurtured terrorism in the world and there is no day in which they promote peace in the Middle East.”

Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq said that we don’t expect the United States to provide anything but unconditional military and political support to Israel and added, “The decision by [American President Donald] Trump demonstrated the peak of the humiliation and disgrace of the authorities, kings and rulers of the Arab countries.”

The senior Hezbollah official noted the Arab rulers swore allegiance and solidarity with Trump during his first trip overseas at the Arab-Islamic-American Summit which was held in Riyadh from 20-21 May, 2017 and added, “But today, Trump has humiliated all of them and does not care about their statements.”

The leaders and representatives of 55 Arab and Muslim countries were in attendance at the summit. After arriving, Saudi King Salman ibn Abdul-Aziz Al Saud awarded him the Collar of Abdul-Aziz Al Saud. Trump also signed a US$350 billion arms deal with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He considered Trump’s decision to be a constraint for the international community and the United Nations Security Council, which did nothing in regard the issue of Jerusalem al-Quds, saying, “There is no global law, plan, or statement issued without the consent of the United States and Israel.”

In conclusion, Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq said, “Jerusalem al-Quds, Palestine and its people do not expect Arab countries to hold a conference and summits about the issue of Palestine but rather they want these countries to take action to support and provide assistance to Palestine. The liberation of Jerusalem al-Quds is not possible through the actions of kings and rulers but by the will of the people and through the weapon of resistance.”

Trump sparked international outrage on December 6th, when he declared that the United States was recognizing Jerusalem al-Quds as the “capital” of Israel and that he had instructed his administration to begin the process of moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to the ancient city.
