Kuwaiti Cleric:
Rasa – The head of the Al al-Bayt International University of Qom said: “The recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist regime by the United States president shows United States arrogance, and Islamic countries should take a decisive response to this decision.”
Ali al-Ali

RNA – In an interview, Ali al-Ali, the head of the Al al-Bayt International University in Qom, said, “The President of the United States’ [Donald Trump] decision to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of the Zionist regime clearly shows the arrogance of the United States. Such a decision by the United States authorities does not change the nature of Palestine as a territory occupied by the Zionists as this country is still an occupied country.”

“With this action, the United States will actually move its embassy from one place in the occupied Palestinian territory [Tel Aviv] to another place [al-Quds] and will impose its arrogant policy and will once again recognize the Zionist regime,” he added.

al-Ali stated that the Zionist regime is a usurping regime and has occupied Palestine and everyone should know that incidents like the transfer of the embassy will not change the nature of Palestine and al-Quds. “This country is and always will be an Arab and Islamic country,” he said.

Referring to the duties of Muslims and Islamic countries in face of this decision, the cleric said, “Muslims should defend the land of Palestine more strongly than ever before and should harshly condemn and protest against the transfer of the United States’ embassy to Jerusalem al-Quds.”

“Unfortunately, Islamic and Arab organizations like the Arab League have been very passive in such a situation and have forget about the issue of Palestine,” he added.

Referring to the responsibility of the Islamic countries, al-Ali said, “Today, the Islamic governments, especially those who support the Islamic Resistance Axis must react decisively to the United States by freezing American assets, boycotting relations with the country and holding popular protests in response to the arrogant decisions of the United States.”

US president Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as the "capital" of Israel on Wednesday and vowed to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv.
