RNA – Grand Ayatollah Nasir Makarem-Shirazi, a revered Shi’ah source of emulation, has issued a statement condemning the claim by the Zionist regime that Jerusalem al-Quds is its capital.
In a speech at the White House on December 6th, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, officially declared Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital, saying his administration would also begin a possibly years-long process of moving the American embassy in Tel Aviv to the holy city.
The text of His Eminence’s statement is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
The recent ruling by the government of the United States regarding Jerusalem al-Quds and Israel’s control over the city and its status as the capital [of Israel] and the decision to transfer the embassy of the United States [to Israel] in six months time is contrary to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and all international standards and has sparked a massive wave of hatred around the world.
Most of the Muslims of the world, and many of the freedom-seeking nations and political leaders of the world, have strongly condemned it.
Here are two important points: Firstly, after the defeat of the United States and its supporters in Iraq and Syria and the failure of their recent plots in Lebanon and Yemen, the United States has fallen into a new sedition. Perhaps in regard to this sedition, they might be able to compensate for the failures of their former successive defeats, while they have misunderstood the situation because those opposed to the United States and its supporters are far greater than the supporters of the former sedition and certainly, they will also be overcome by defeat in regard to this issue and there will be a new scandal in this regard.
Another is that this great crime has scandalized supporters of the United States, such as Saudi Arabia, who recently chose the United States and Israel as their friend, and as they could have assisted the Muslims financially, now they are afraid and do not know what to say about the situation of the Muslims in the world and what to do in this regard.
Meanwhile, this decision has also placed a huge roadblock on the path of the supporters of compromise with Israel, which is another scandal.
In this situation, all Muslims in the world must unite because Jerusalem al-Quds is a connecting ring among all of them and they must stand against this flagrant aggression and nasty bullying and not allow the city of Jerusalem al-Quds and the first qiblah of Muslims to be lost.
