RNA – Speaking during his advanced jurisprudence lesson at Qom’s Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani offered his congratulations on the “joyous and blessed” birth anniversary of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, and the birth anniversary of the sixth imam, Ja’far al-Sadiq, and emphasized on the necessity of unity among Muslims above everything else.
The revered source of emulation described the 17th day of the Islamic lunar month of Rabi’ al-Awwal out as a “great day in the history of mankind” and added that the existence of the Prophet Muhammad in different aspects can be reviewed and we must explain the aspects of this great personality to the people, the Islamic ummah and the world so that the people have the necessary familiarity with the Prophet.
He mentioned that the possibility of receiving the revelation and the Quran are among the most important and significant features of the Prophet Muhammad and in reference to the Quranic exegesis, al-Mizan, he said, “Some who did not know Islam and the Prophet Muhammad introduced the Prophet as a human genius although the Prophet was a divine man and the Prophet’s ethics are a model for all human beings.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said today, the Islamic ummah needs practical unity and added, “Successive victories by the Islamic Resistance in the light of the solidarity and unity of the countries of the Islamic Resistance Axis have been achieved. Perhaps if this unity didn’t exist, the situation would be different.”
The prominent teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom warned against the sedition of the arrogant powers to create a rift between Shi’ah and Sunni Muslims, saying, “The enemies of Islam, especially the United States, the Zionists, and the United Kingdom, seek to create dissension between Shi’ahs and Sunnis because they benefit from such dissension. Therefore, the Islamic ummah must neutralize the enemies’ plots through unity.”
In another part of his speech, he stated that imamate is the completion of prophecy and said, “Imam al-Sadiq was able to introduce true and pure Islam to the public through the training of outstanding students and standing against the deviations created.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani also referred to the events in Bahrain and called for more resistance in support of Ayatollah Isa Qasim and prayed for the health and well-being of the spiritual leader of Bahrain’s oppressed Shi’ah majority.
His health is worsening as he has been under a virtual house arrest since June 2016.
Earlier this week, the UK-based Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD) reported that physicians who had visited Ayatollah Qasim at his home in the northwestern village of Diraz over the weekend had diagnosed him to be suffering from a “groin hernia requiring an emergency operation.”
