RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon’s Sayyidah al-Zahra Complex, Ayatollah Afif al-Nablusi stressed that “distancing from the affairs of the region” is a deceptive phrase aimed at limiting the Islamic Resistance [Hezbollah].
In consultations with Lebanese President Michel Aoun with representatives of political parties in Prime Minister Sa’ad al-Hariri’s coalition government held on Monday, al-Hariri declared that Hezbollah must stop interfering in regional conflicts and accept a neutral policy to bring an end to the political crisis.
al-Hariri told French broadcaster CNews that he was ready to stay on as Prime Minister if Hezbollah accepted to stick by the state policy of staying out of regional conflicts.
Referring to the spread of such remarks in the political atmosphere of Lebanon, the senior Lebanese Shi’ah cleric emphasized that the aim of such remarks is to limit the power of Hezbollah.
Ayatollah al-Nablusi added, “Those who are claimants of distancing Hezbollah from regional conflicts have not avoided this issue themselves but rather by interfering in regional affairs with indignation and audacity, they have brought destruction, killing and murder to the Lebanese people.”
His Eminence noted, “Why does Saudi Arabia not withdraw from its involvement in Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Bahrain? Why don’t those who criticize Hezbollah not condemn the aggressive policies of Saudi Arabia?”
He continued, “Before some of them speak of the return of the Islamic Resistance to Lebanese soil, it is better to ask Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey not to send weapons and support the Takfiri terrorists and create sedition in the region.”
Ayatollah al-Nablusi said, “What will those individuals say tomorrow when the Israeli enemies come to our border and attack our country when today they say they don’t want Hezbollah to be present outside of the borders of Lebanon?”
“They expect Hezbollah to remain silent against the crimes committed against humanity and the massacres of the people of the Islamic ummah in order that the means for an Israeli attack on Lebanon is provided?” he added.
Ayatollah al-Nablusi said, “The Islamic Resistance Axis will never give up against the project to normalize relations between Arab countries and Israel, against the tyranny and armed occupation against any territory and will not refrain from confronting the Israeli enemy.”
