RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi referred to the end of Daesh, saying, “Today, members of Daesh and Wahhabi terrorists [falsely] using the name of Islam seek to overthrow true Islam in the world.”
The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah stressed that this terrorist group introduced Islam as violent and cruel so that those who had a tendency towards Islam would turn away from it and said, “The Islamic ummah must know that this evil and wicked ideology remains and with the support of arrogance powers and the reactionaries, this ideology is being promoted in the region and for this reason, we it must stand up to it with insight.”
He offered congratulations on the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Unity Week and stated, “According to Shaykh al-Kulayni and Sunni scholars, the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal is the birthdate of the Prophet Muhammad and according to the accepted Shi’ah belief, the 17th of Rabi’ al-Awwal is the birthdate of the Prophet Muhammad as well as that of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq. On the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran, this week has been named as Islamic Unity Week in order to emphasize further mutual understanding among Muslims.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi said that the Ahlul-Bayt had established interaction and communication with the followers of other sects and religions and noted, “The Commander of the Faithful [Imam Ali] said that in the Islamic ummah, there is no one more sympathetic than me for the unity of the Muslims and for familiarity and affection between them.”
The representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] in Qom emphasized that the ummah must consider Islamic Unity Week as an opportunity to strengthen the ties and solidarity of this unity. “Imam al-Sadiq advised the Shi’ahs not to be neglectful in their relations with the followers of other Islamic sects and to participate in their gatherings and visit the sick.”
He also commemorated Basij Week, said, “The Basij is an ideology and a culture and is beyond being an organization and institution. The ideology of the Basij is the ideology of Imam Khomeyni, the founder of this holy institution, who was a role-model, which he took from the Prophet of Islam.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi continued, “Just as the Prophet managed his government on the basis of the people and handed over various affairs to the people, we must rely on the Prophet and the Ahlul-Bayt. From the beginning of the Islamic Revolution until now, the only restorative version that showed its value was the ideology of the Basij.”
He said that the emphasis by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the presence of people in various arenas and in the administration of the country is due to the ideology of the Basij and added, “Until today, everything that has been relegated to the people has progressed but everything that remained in the monopoly of the presidents and the authorities has ceased.”
His Eminence said, “This same Basiji ideology was exported to other countries and we saw examples of this in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon where the people’s movement had the last word. The roots of the enemies’ system will be ended when we are armed with divine inspiration and with the commander of the Basij – Major-General Hajj Qasem Soleymani.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi referred to the anniversary of the adoption of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran and explained, “On 3 December 1979, the text of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran was passed and put to a public hearing. This honourable document is the result of the efforts of the scholars and elders which was approved as a collection of 12 chapters and 175 articles and a high percentage of people also voted for it.”
Referring to the developments in the region, the Friday prayer leader of Qom said that the deplorable situation in Yemen is continuing and according to news reports from Bahrain, the status of Ayatollah Isa Qasim’s health is very worrisome. The home of this great scholar is under siege by the military and his health is seriously threatened. The danger is that the Bahraini regime will not allow him to be transferred to the hospital.
Ayatollah Sa’idi added that the Al Khalifah regime is responsible for any incident against the spiritual Shi’ah leader of Bahrain and international human rights organizations, regional human rights organizations and regional governments must do their duty in this regard and they must also assist the people of Yemen.
