Rasa – Speaking on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim said, “The international community must pressure the Zionist regime to restore the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people.”

RNA – In a statement issued on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the head of the National Iraqi Alliance, noted that the efforts, political movements and the relationship with the world are aimed at attaining the rights of the people of Palestine.”


In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly called for the annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. 


The date of 29 November was chosen because of its meaning and significance to the Palestinian people. On that day, in 1947, the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine. 


The senior Iraqi cleric and politician said that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is an important step in the realization of the rights of the Palestinian people and added, “The Palestinian people have been oppressed under the tyranny of the Zionist regime for over 70 years.”


Hujjat al-Islam al-Hakim said, “The international community must act on its own responsibilities in regards to Palestine and pressure the Zionist regime to respect the rights of the people of this country.”
 

He also attended celebrations marking Islamic Unity Week at Abu Hanifah al-Nu’man University in Baghdad and emphasized the necessity of turning threats into opportunities and added, “Daesh was a huge threat and danger which reached close to the border of Baghdad Governorate and committed various crimes, such as massacring innocent people and destroying homes, but the Iraqi people united against this great threat and defended their country.”


His Eminence continued, “The multiplicity of religions and denominations is a natural issue and must not lead to conflicts between religions and denominations and the Iraqi people have understood this issue well. Those who are in the midst of tribal disputes have become a great danger to this country.”


Hujjat al-Islam al-Hakim emphasized that holding firm to original Islam and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad will lead to the unity of the Islamic ummah.


The head of the National Iraqi Alliance said, “After achieving victory over the Daesh Takfiri terrorists due to the blessings of the blood of the martyrs, it is now time to fight against corruption, protect our internal unity and rebuild Iraq.”


Hujjat al-Islam al-Hakim called for the initiation of an Arab-Kurdish, Shi’ah-Sunni and Yazidi-Mandaean dialogue and said, “The National Reconciliation Plan is a complete plan for the post-Daesh era which can lead to greater national unity in Iraq.”
