Rasa – A senior Iraqi source of emulation has strongly condemned the US Congress’ bill labelling Iraq’s al-Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba as a terrorist organization.
Ayatollah Sayyid Kadhim al-Haeri

RNA – In a letter, Ayatollah Sayyid Kadhim al-Haeri, an Iraqi source of emulation living in the Iranian holy city of Qom, referred to the recent victories of the warriors in the fight against the Daesh terrorist movement and said, “The Iraqi armed forces, including the Popular Mobilization Forces, the army and the national police, have witnessed the truthful promise of God Almighty in the achievement of great victories against terrorism.”

He also expressed his satisfaction with the victories of the Iraqi warriors against Daesh, adding, “During this very difficult time, there were men who stood honestly on the covenant they had with God, such that they were examples of the narration from Imam Ali who said, ‘We have been with the Prophet in battles wherein those killed were fathers, sons, brothers and relations of one another. Nevertheless, every trouble and hardship just increased us in our belief, in our treading on the right path, in submission to (divine) command and in endurance of the pain of wounds [Nahj al-Balaghah: Sermon 122].’”

He strongly condemned the United Congress for introducing a bill labeling Iraq’s al-Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba as a terrorist organization and imposing sanctions on the Islamic Resistance group and noted, “This is the response of the United States to the bravery and sacrifices of the warriors and the defeat of its plans and wishes for the continued survival of Daesh in the region.”

Ayatollah al-Haeri added, “The Iraqi warriors must not be saddened by these actions because the honour of all is from God, who says in the Holy Quran: ‘They say, ‘When we return to the city, the mighty will surely expel the weak from it.’ Yet all might belongs to God and His Apostle and the faithful, but the hypocrites do not know [63:8].’”

The Iraqi source of emulation explained that the officials and politicians should know that, thanks to the blood of the martyrs, the Takfiri terrorists have been defeated but they still pose a danger to the country and the people and they must not be ignored.

He emphasized, “Our military and security bases must be fully alert in the face of the dangers posed by the evil Takfiris, since the war today is not less important than in the past.”

In response to a statement by some Iraqi officials on the dissolution of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Ayatollah al-Haeri said, “All movements and battalions of the Popular Mobilization Forces must stand with the security forces to protect the country and the people in the present and future.”

His Eminence called for the reconstruction of areas liberated from the Daesh terrorists and said, “The authorities should provide facilities and equipment for a suitable and dignified life for the refugees and citizens of the newly liberated regions and provide the means for the dignified return of the displaced people to their home regions.”

He added that during the post-Daesh era, the government should take the opportunity to remove thieves from government positions and fight the traitors and corrupt officials.

Ayatollah al-Haeri emphasized that the government should expel foreign forces based in Iraq as soon as possible by adopting appropriate measures.

The al-Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, which has about 10,000 fighters, is a branch of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces.

Earlier this month, US Republican lawmaker Ted Poe proposed a bill to the House of Representatives that would place al-Nujaba on a list of terrorist groups over accusations of having links to Iran and give President Donald Trump 90 days to impose sanctions on it once the bills is passed.
