Rasa – The representative of Ayatollah al-Sistani emphasized the necessity of preserving natural resources and proper water management in Iraq.

RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large crowd of believers and mourners at the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn in the Iraqi city of Karbala, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ahmad al-Safi emphasized on the necessity of preserving Iraq’s national resources and said, “We must not forget that God Almighty has given our country great wealth and natural resources, such as water, which has a vital place in the life of humankind.”


The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in Karbala said, “Unofficial news has reached that that the condition of the water available is very unfavourable such that agricultural and animal lands have faced serious threats. The relevant authorities, in spite of the many problems that exist in the country, must have a clear policy for water management in Iraq.”

 
Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi stated, “The mismanagement and waste of water should be resolved as soon as possible because the protection of this divine wealth is a universal duty that must be given its due attention.”


The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn added, “Through divine favour and grace, the Iraqi warriors were able to force the Daesh Takfiri terrorist movement to retreat and was also able to inflict a heavy defeat upon them. We ask God Almighty to grant security, to preserve the unity, to strengthen love and to expand the culture of peaceful coexistence between the various groups among the people.”


Referring to the latest situation of the refugees, Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi said that the relevant authorities must rebuilt the areas liberated from the Daesh terrorist forces as soon as possible and provide the grounds for the return of refugees to their home regions.”
