RNA - According to Rasa news agency, Hojatoleslam Sheikh Naim Qassim, the deputy secretary general of Hezbollah in Lebanon, said that “Saudi Arabia is sinking into a swamp and cannot get relieved of it.”
“Saudi Arabia was trying to get Lebanon into the swamp as well, but they themselves sank into the swamp. The Saudis do not know how to move on and are doomed to failure,” Sheikh Naim Qassim said.
He added that “the Saudi interference in Lebanon’s internal issues led to formation of a major national agreement on the issue of dignity and independence of Lebanon.”
“From the beginning of the crisis, the developments went against the expectations of the Saudis. Saudi Arabia is known today for the people the world as a state that supports terrorism in the region, and although they are trying to show it the other way around, the outcome is totally against their will,” Sheikh Naim Qassim said.
Hezbollah's deputy secretary general, reiterating that the people of Lebanon stand against any occupation in wake of wisdom, co-operation and national unity, noted that Hezbollah played a major role in confronting Takfiri terrorists and disrupting their plans in the region.
"The so-called international community joined together with the leadership of the United States and Israel, to help terrorists dominated the Middle East, including Lebanon, but resistance axis and Hezbollah, were a major blow to the terrorists,” Sheikh Naim Qassem continued.
The Hezbollah official expressed that the resistance group now plays a decisive role in formation of government and stability of Lebanon's politics and security adding that: “Some groups are after inciting sedition inside Lebanon by putting economic pressure on people.”
Hariri announced his resignation on November 4, citing several reasons, including the security situation in Lebanon, for his sudden decision. He also said that he realized a plot being hatched against his life.
Hariri also accused Iran and the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, of meddling in the Arab countries’ affairs; an allegation the two have rejected.
The Lebanese prime minister announced his resignation following his visit to Saudi Arabia.
